Do you think Taurus is the only used gun being sold on Calguns that is a POS.

I know someone on this board that has purchased several used Wilson Combat 1911 pistols, and each one was a POS. His $250 (in 1980's dollars) Springfield 1911 shot better.

I've had more problems with my S&W revolvers than my Taurus revolvers over the years. YMMV.

We had major timing/lockup issues with our 357 Tracker out of the box. It took a couple of returns to Florida to get it working properly. I still don't trust it that much. The shop where I purchased had other Taurus of the same model also exhibited problems and the shop stopped carrying Taurus after they get a brush off from Taurus at the Shot show. This was years ago but nothing on the internet has given me the feeling that things have changed. Their guns are hit or miss when it comes to QC. I bought mine because a friend had a Taurus Raging Bull that he was quite happy with.

I have some Smiths, Rugers, and even a lone 25 year old Rossi that I bought new and they have been great!! I bought a .44 Mag Taurus Tracker 4" used here a couple of years ago and it has been awesome too!! Go figure....YMMV so check them out thoroughly. There is plenty of good info how to check out revolvers on the interwebs. BTW I paid $450 with a holster and 2 speed loaders.

Well, lets wait and see what the OP says. I'm betting it isn't the 1st trip to the repair station. Are you willing to make the same bet that it isn't?

Gosh no. But I do believe, until I hear different from a credible source, that the tarus brand is either at the top or very near the top of the throw-it-back POS list.

Have/had two of them. The first one had the rear sight fall off after the first few rounds. Taurus replaced the sight, haven't had any issues since then. It left with my ex-gf, so I got another one. I still have it, no issues whatsoever. It's accurate and reliable, I still have it. Good trigger too.

I have a Taurus M66 in blued finish. I really like this gun. Was my first revolver and I won't ever sell it. Accurate and reliable. Bought it used from a Calgunner for mid $300; I don't remember exactly. The downside is the trigger, which feels worse than the Ruger and the S&W. It's very springy even after swapping it with Wolff springs.

                  But $425 seems high.

I'm going to find out soon enough myself. I'm picking up a consignment Tracker this Friday that was priced at $430.

It looked in pretty good shape except for one odd thing, there appeared to be dramatic erosion marks on the outside of the barrel next to the barrel ports. I presume hot outgassing from those ports ate away at the metal? It doesn't look like a problem other than a cosmetic one.

I can see paying $150 for a used Taurus 357 but not $430. With patience a good deal can be found on a better gun. I rcently picked up an as new stainless Ruger GP100 for $470.
