I recently put a Zev slide and barrel on my 19 . I'm thinking of helping my son build a 19 using my factory slide and barrel. Slide has nite sights installed.
Question-what would be the total cost of the parts necessary to do this incl the cost of the poly frame? Have someone who can assist us in the build..

Are you thinking of an 80% lower? The unfortunate part is that no one can help you with the actual hands on part. Other than the tools you should be able to get all the parts needed for around $200

Until someone blabs about it on a forum known to be monitored by law enforcement. Or one friend gets jammed up by LE and throws the other friend under the bus.

You cannot just complete an 80% lower and throw your factory slide and barrel on it. You have to build it to be dimensionally and single-shot compliant. There are several other threads covering this in detail. Something like this is what you have to build:

buy him a $499 G19 as a gift

give him the slide and barrel to have it customized into a way that he will enjoy, and keep the originals from his new gun as backups.
