Springfield-XD 9mm

Anyone got any experience with these - advice, personal experience etc etc. I am thinking it may be a great handgun for the home that is small enough for the wife to use if needed.

i love the XD9 and have several. my favorite is the XD9 subcompact. buy the pearce grip extensions, it's a must! also send it to springer precision for a trigger job.

I have an XD9 with the 4" barrel. It think it is quite a good pistol. I rented on at Reed's indoor range, shot it and ordered one that evening. I have no regrets getting one.

XD9s are nice, I just wish the reset on the trigger was shorter.

I have the xd 9mm tac. and love it. fired all three (tac, 4" and sub) and definetly like the tac the best. I like the longer barrel for looks, faster reset on target and better aiming. The trigger is a bit long but that's an easy fix. I didn't like the sub compact cause it was too small in my hand and didn't really stay flat enough for me. One thing I learned is that sub's are nice if you intend on carrying but if your intnet is to have a gun that you and your wife can just go to the range and shoot you'll have a lot more fun with a 4" or tac. Also the sub is limited on the attachments for the rail while my 5" has a laser and light combo on it that is just ohhhhhhhhh so nice. Good luck.

My first handgun was an OD green XD-9. Absolutely love the features it offers for the price range. It has functioned without a flaw. The life-time warranty ain't bad either

Me too, except replace the word "1911" with "Glock" .
