Isn't that made from janitor fish?

Joking aside. If this was my Glock 34 I would recheck the dovetail mount. OP, Can you post pic of the reflex sight with the dovetail mount? Do you think it's solid? Check the screws securing the reflex sight to the mount/base. If they are too long and bottoming out they may not be securing the sight completely allowing a few thousandth of an inch movement and affecting zero. You can use a laser that mounts on the dust cover rail to verify the rigidity of the reflex sight mount. Mount the laser on the rail and zero it with the reflex sight at 10-15 yards. All you have to do is shoot the gun on a bench/rest to see if the reflex sight zero stays true.

The purple Loctite is worth having spares of in your kit IMO.

Intermittently using one eye/both eyes/wrong eye?

Since I zeroed the gun last week before the match, I am testing it again tomorrow and confirming the zero. If it moved, then I will take the optic off and check for loose parts.

                To be continued.

Spoke with Vortex, they want to take a look at it. Headed to range to confirm zero. If it moved from the last time, they said the elevation lock screw may be wonky.

                      In the processs.

I got the RD sight checked, the slide milled for a proper installation, ordered counter sunk screws for more consistent reinstalling, suppressor sights for co-witnessing the dot and, if it makes a difference, I have new prescription shooting glasses.

                      Tests by next week.

Good luck. I am going to be building a Carry Optics pistol this year and I hope it goes smoother than yours.

a few of the things Ive come to know:

                          1) bore height of the dot is sensitive for POI, specially for close up targets. this is why I opted to mill the slide.

                          2) red dot focal plane is not the same as front sight. user must focus on target not sight and bring the dot to it.

                          3) astigmatism is not a good thing for RDSs.

                          4) from RDSs users Ive met, co witnessing is very helpful. they say there is no parallax, but from users, the dot must be centered. I duhno, but thats what I hear.

                          Hoping for better results.

yeh, you're looking the layers of glass. I just don't see how there could be zero parallax. Probably just good marketing from Vortex. I'll probably pick one up just the same..

Shooting fine with iron sights but all over the place with an optic?
Either the optic is loose or where you eye(s) are focusing.
When using iron sights your focus needs to be on the front sight.
When using an optic your focus needs to be on the target and superimpose the dot on the target but keep looking at the target.
