80% Glock Build?

I did some searching and got more confused.

I have been seeing alot of those poly80s for pretty cheap.

Where are people getting the upper kits? Slides/barrels/guide rods springs etc.

Do you have to piece em together or does someone sell kits?

Any help guidance or concerns please let me know. I am not sold on these but they seem interesting.

I read some information and some reviews and watched some videos. It is definitely within my skillset to actually do the work.

I am more curious where people are buying parts? Is this just a frankenbuild type thing or is there complete kits out there?

The videos arent telling me what they did for their upper. They mill out the lower and slide on some super sick upper but i'm like dude did you already have that? is someone selling kits?

I'm also just looking for input like if there is some issue that I wouldnt normally think of.

Uses factory glock parts. TheGlockstore in SD will sell you everything if you don't mind paying a premium.

The only thing you work on is the lower. The upper you buy parts for and build or just be lazy and buy a oem complete upper.

Midway has lower parts kits for $50 that include an extended slide release and extended mag release.

You can find complete slides for about $400new. Or about $359 used on eBay.

Gunbroker. I bought a Gen 3 17 for $300 straight up. I don't think people bid because it was with 10rd mags.

I bought a Gen 2 Police Surplus during the height of the Gun panice for under $300.

You just have to be patient or lucky.

Can't totally dismiss the transfer fee from an FFL... I know this IS a more affordable route, but sometimes the transfer fee can be $70 + DROS, a buyer needs to shop around different FFL's and see if its worth his/her time...

You buy three things

80% lower 70-150$
Lower parts kit 50-150$
Completed Upper (or slide and upper parts kit). 300-600$

Glockstore.com literally sells you everything in one order, but you can usually find better prices peicemealing something together from various websites.

You make the lower, install the lower parts kit then put your completed upper to complete the gun.

Getting the lower and lower parts kit is easy to find. I've had luck seeing completed uppers on ebay/gunbroker/glockstore.

Yea that transfer fee gives you a warranty at least.

80% in CA is a waste. Why would you want a pistol with a 9" barrel and a bolt action? In a "free" state, yeah, you can build one with a "normal" upper as a semi-auto, but here? Better off just buying a new glock for $500...semi-auto, regular length barrel, and a warranty.
