I think the Honor Guard version would be fairly easy to live with. Forgetting any John Wick moves, it would be nice to have just to prevent out-of-battery failures.

A surefire x300 will be enough of a standoff to keep guns in battery. Its also useful, doesn't look stupid, and there are plenty of holsters for them. That monstrosity is quite the opposite

Having the capability to hit hard and knock the aggressor out with the muzzle end of a pistol is a nice option to have. When you're in a kill or be killed fight I'm sure many here will just pull the trigger. In a situation where you are faced with an unarmed intruder, that meat tenderizer is nice to have.

Most pistols have this giant slab of steel called the slide.

LOL! Then you risk going out of battery or causing a double feed.

JT, here's one that's still being made but it's for Glock 19 only.

Looks like it would serve as a pretty nice counter weight too.

Also, if that plate is mounted to the frame rail and not the slide, there is zero risk of putting your gun out of battery.

You need to practice proper pistol whipping technique. Rotate your wrist so that the gun smacks the person across the face rear sights first. That way the slide is being pushed forward, rather than back, and zero chance of it going out of battery.

If you need to pistol whip someone because your gun malfunctioned, rotate your wrist the other way so that the gun smacks the person front sights first, which will rack the slide and clear the weapon, quickly getting you back into the fight.

                      Lol

If serious, it is stupid and I'd advise you to immediately read 6 firearm fighting books and to sign up for 4-10 days of tactic classes

You are more likely to shoot them when you intention is to strike them -

You can also simply punch with your muzzle

If you are not use to this, the gun can go out of batery and require an action so that it will shoot.

If you are not used to fixing type 1-3 malfunctions
If you are not scanning your gun every time to look for a slightly out of batery slide

                          Well

                          Don't do it
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                          (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

I like how the rail mounted strike plate has a rail mount. You know in case you want to add a light/laser combo.

Or maybe you add another strike plate

Few years ago, muzzle front strike face, was all the rage for extreme handgun CQB. It was for those Operators that like to do work close and personal. LOL.

All joking aside, it was thought as a legit tool to combat a few issues that was noticed during extreme CQB (< 2ft) hand to hand combat.
                                • A bad guy can hand palm your muzzle render your gun inoperative and stab you with a knife
                                • During a life and death struggle, you stab you gun at the body of the bad guy, but muzzle was pushed back causing a jam.
                                • Instead of push, retreat, draw, and fire, you draw, stab your gun, and fire. Reducing the reaction time.
                                • When trying to fire within a coat jacket, muzzle got pushed back causing a jam.

It was never intended as a stand-off device or prevent your muzzle being out of battery if you hit a wall (really? so much for muzzle control)

Meat tenderizer design was just to make it look cool.

Current CQB technique calls for keeping your gun close to your body, thus eliminate the need for front strike face.
