    Strike Plate

Anyone use them for their dedicated CQB pistol? I can't think of putting one on an all steel railed pistol for the added weight. Do you think it's just another mall ninja tacticool add-on? Some designs can put a serious hurting on anyone receiving a quick jab with a spiked or bladed strike plate.

    Holster will be another issue.

My opinion is that it is just about as stupid as the pistol rail mounted "bayonet".

I think a bayonet is more useful.

Ah! Yes! A bayonet mounted for CQB sidearm. Was wondering if the operators would chime in and give their opinion about it.

Looks like it could help in a very close quarters situation... Like when the gun is pushed against someone. Push too hard and it goes out of battery and cannot fire. This looks like it would solve that problem.

If the barrel is ported, this could likely be used as a door breech as well.

Worst case, it looks like a pretty cool meat tenderizer.

It is a solution to nothing but tenderizing your steak with your side arm and/or shredding holsters.

Are these even still being made? I remember when they first came out. GG&G made one and they also made similar strike bezels for sure fire hand lights. Pretty sure they've discontinued production. Whether it's useful or not is up to the individual to decide.

I actually did knock my gun out of battery once on a barrier during a uspsa match. Did a tap rack bang and kept going. And these wouldn't be legal in production class anyway, but it could happen I guess in a real life scenario just as easily as it did in competition if you were a swat guy doing a dynamic entry on a house or bldg. Most weapon mounted lights seem to extend a bit past the muzzle already and could also possibly prevent you from knocking the slide back if you smacked a corner I suppose. Get one if you like it and try it out.

I have tried it before in a training a few times and it is very useful.

That said I don't know if they are made anymore

Why not just hold this in your off hand?

If you smack him with a pistol without the strike plate it is more likely to get pushed out of battery or worst jammed with a double feed. Having a strike plate increases the chance of the pistol kept ready to engage threats.

JT, were you able to find a link for that particular stand off device you posted a photo of, or was that just a random photo off of a web search so you could show what you were asking about. Curious if its still in production.

I've been looking and so far no luck on one that's in production. I was thinking of putting one on my Sig P320 full size.
