OP, I had the same issue when I picked up a SA .45 loaded from Turners a year ago, I had two blemishes. I called SA customer service and spoke to Debra, she issued a FedEx shipping order and sent the 1911 back to SA, I got it back after a week and a half and all the issues fixed. I am now very happy with mine.

Suggestion: If you decide on keeping your 1911 and if you will be sending the gun back to be fixed, make sure the gun is clean and there are no other scratches or blemishes you attained so there will be no issues. Make sure you describe in detail all issues you want fixed...

i usually break down the gun and clean them before leaving thats what the rag is for but a little extra padding aint gonna hurt nothin
