Need better pics, including underside of frame rails, interior of slide, top view of barrel, all four sides of the gun, pics of proof marks and date code, and rough estimate of use just to gauge service life.

Basically though, $900 - $950 in CA for a motivated buyer, little less for a quick sale.

Early Sig 220s had a different grip angel than current 220's. I'd compare your grip angle to a current model so you know for sure what angel you have.

A heel magazine release model might need a different magazine...maybe...better check.

In 1978 that model was brought into the U.S. with a "Browning'' name on it.

Hambam.. mine was made in 77...in 78 the sigs were Browning BDA stamped. trust me I've checked. I can't use the newer mags with the plastic floor plate on them. Mine has the heel mag release. The way to tell is on the bottom of the slide where the recoil spring and guide rod fit into it has letters corresponding to numbers. Mine is stamped HH which corresponds to 77 which means 1977.

Yes sir it's been rode hard and put away wet it seems .... not by me though, I have to say it still shoots great.

btw I'm a nobody, it's just my gut instinct.

The gun has honest wear, it's well used and needs a service, but it's old which is neat and doesn't appear often. Having a non-Sig import mark is pretty interesting which I think adds value.

It's really a $600 gun but I think the circumstances make it much higher, and 950 - 1,000 seems fair. Heel release is a detractor for some, collectible for others, so your gun is a mixed bag.

Not that it matters but all springs were replaced about a month ago. It has been serviced but I don't really want to change the barrel since it's the factory barrel. Still ejects and shoots great. I'm thinking I will keep it though, don't really see the European mag release 220's much anymore.

That does matter, and original barrel is preferred.

Sell it if you like, guns are guns. Everyone likes something specific, and you may want something else or nothing at all. No big deal.

I personally love Sig pistol aesthetics, they are wonderfully gorgeous machines.

I'm having a hard time selling it since I have owned this pistol the longest out of all of mine, and it's been 100% reliable.

if you're not hard up for cash and it has sentimental value you shouldn't sell it. a 226 was my first semi I'll never sell it there's nothing wrong with it

A West German P220 is on my bucket list. Keep it! I'll never get rid of any of my Sigs. In fact I just picked up a .357 barrel for my least favorite Sig in my collection (2340).
