    Springfield XDm 9mm?

So from reading alot of mags, I know the Springfield XDm is supposed to be awesome....and hard to get in CA since its not rostered....

so what is a XDm worth in CA? I'm thinking about taking one on trade...

    thanks in advance,

I don't think I have seen one show up on the FS section, so there really isn't an established price for them.

It's worth what it's worth to you. For example I really wanted a HK45, but I would never pay the inflated prices, so to me they weren't worth it, yet I saw others happily pay $1300-$1500 for them, which could be anywhere from $300+ over the price the seller paid.

When I was In Texas last month I saw a few XDM's in 9mm and .40 and the prices were in the $600-$650 range, so what is it worth to you?

I think a fair price for a non rostered used gun would be the price the seller paid.

Remember the other problem is going to be the magazine issue, the XDM uses it's own magazines and they only make Hi Caps for them, so unless you know how to make it a 10 rounder, your basically stuck with a gun you can't shoot here in California.
I think it can be confirmed that an alien xenomorph is absolutely no match for good ole' Alabama black snake!

    and

If you're in a survival movie and the hot blond twists her ankle and can't walk, you damn well figure a way to carry her. If it's a dude, you shake his hand and say "best of luck".

damm i forgot that the XDm uses dedicated high-cap (i hate that term) magazines....hmmm i'm going to have to figure out a way to put a spacer in it.....

I hate that term high-cap, its more like standard cap....whereas in CA we are stuck with "low-cap" or "wimpy cap" or "***** cap"

I talked to a guy at Bass Pro Shops a couple of days ago and he seem to be an XD fan. He told me the XDm should be getting rostered here in the near future...However, he was trying to sell me a brand new Beretta 90-Two, which is not on the list either...

The fact that so many dealers are under the impression this firearm is coming to Kali may have some weight behind it.

I'm gonna need to call FUD on that one. As far as I can tell, the XDm does not have an LCI that fits CA's new definition. It also lacks a mag disconnect. Unless they redesign, it's not gonna be on the list. (Of course the list may not matter in the very near future, but that's another thread)

personally, I would rule out an XD all together. Compared to Glock, it's bulkier, heavier, has a higher bore axis, has a cumbersome and unnecessary hand grip safety, the magazines are in SS finish only (not covert), and it feels cheaply made imho (Croatia, don't know if that's relevant) compared to Glock, HK, S&W M&P, Sig, Steyr M40, etc. If you want it, go for it; however, if I could do it over again, I would have gotten a Sig SP2022 as my first polymer framed gun...about the same price/weight as XDM but is a midsized compact model & not a full sized duty piece...and it's a Sig that retails for about $600 or less (has unique & reliable internal extractor, removable grips that can be replaced w/ Crimson Trace grips and not add bulk/width to the gun). To all his own though; XDM still will serve many well.
If guns cause crime, then all of mine must be defective.

Yes, but read the post you quoted.

An LCI that meets California's new definition of an LCI

Under the new definition of an LCI, the XDM will not pass.

Doesn't matter, it needs both the LCI AND magazine disconnect.

My bad. The LCI is on the top of the slide anyway. Back is the hammer cock indicator.

LCI's do make guns safer. Just like a knife is safer if the blade falls off when you let go. huh? I like Cheerios and cheese. Yes, that makes sense.
