Gun inventory program

I used to have a program called Blue book of gun values or something like that where I could keep track of all my guns. It connected to the Internet and retrieved values. I could also add photos, and the program was searchable, so I could get a list of all pistols or all rifles.

That program was last updated in 2006, and my computer no longer supports it.

Does anyone have a program that they use and like?

I could probably do some sort of spread sheet or something, but I'm not that great with a computer.

I'm not sure if the program was connected to the Internet. The program just allowed you to instantly look up a value on the Blue book of guns site. I guess they could assume that you had what you looked up.

I guess I need to learn how to do a spread sheet. I just want to have a accurate list of what I have; if nothing else, for insurance pour purposes.....

The Blue Book is still on the internet, just google blue book for guns. There is a subscription you have to pay to look things up. But be aware, the prices are often a bit low and apply to 49 of the 50 states. They do not have "California" prices listed.

i can't help you with the program you're looking for, but, have you ever thought about listing all your firearms, calibers, serial numbers, etc., on Note Pad, then, just emailing them to yourself so you can save that information and have access to it at any time?

that's basically what i did, and, every time i buy another firearm i just add it to my saved Note Pad and re-email it to myself and delete the old one

now, if you ever need to get information for one of your firearms, file a report with LE, you can access the information you need fairly easy, anywhere

of course, i have less than 10 firearms total, not sure how many you're interested in logging, but, it's doable

Better to use google sheets or office online instead. Easier to use and technically "more secure" than what you're already doing.

The benefits outweigh the negatives for storing this data online.

If your computer is connected to the internet, it doesn't matter what program you use...the alphabet agencies have access to it.

Quite a stretch, but doesn't matter, we all leak so much information it's easy to profile and isolate interesting persons.

You're on a firearms website, the government knows almost every gun you have, your ISP knows almost everything you do, your cell phone tracks almost everywhere you go, and your bank knows almost everything you buy.

You have to work pretty hard to avoid leaving a mess everywhere.

And yes the government knows or can fairly easily find out what they want to know about anyone...especially with a warrant. But we all know that's not really necessary unless they plan to take you to court.

Several gun shops have these sitting on the counter, but you can always print your own or convert it to a PDF to save on your computer..

The alphabet agencies already know what firearms we own after certain dates. I'll bet their data base a tad more secure than some inventory program linked to a vendor.
