I have a Marlin 1894 in 32 H & R Magnum. The cartridge doesn't exactly shine out of a rifle. But I keep looking for a Ruger Bisley in the 32 that isn't too over priced, seems like a great pistol cartridge.

Just a note: The .357 versions will be heavier that the .44 versions because the barrels have the same outside diameter, but the .357 has a smaller hole, therefore more barrel meat. Maybe it matters maybe it doesn't in terms of balance for you.

I've had a few ruger super blacks and while I do like them .... not one ever shot what I would call GREAT. But I do like them.
I have a 3 screw flat top that I would say shoots great no 2 ways about it.
I had an EMF 1875 in 45 colt ..... and while I only shot light loads in it .... it was a very accurate pistol ......... the base pin would jump often though ... even with the light loads I used.

Colt will be an investment. Colt saa will cost $$$ but will only go up in value. Everything else will be so so. I think the deal right now is old vaqueros since they are larger frame and can shot the heaviest loads. Lots of guys are converting these guns to custom six shooters. I have one done by Bowen in 475 linebaugh. I really want the outlaw by Gary reeder. The ruger vaqueros old style in 45 colt, bisley are getting harder to find so that would be my suggestion. 357 will be a Blackhawk
44 mag will be Super Blackhawk - a little larger.
3 screw (OM - old model) will cost you at least $200 more. A lot have been converted to new model - if you find a converted one make sure they include the original parts.
NM are fine. Ruger of late has put more emphasis on getting guns out the door than quality. I have a rule that I won't buy a Ruger made since Bill Ruger died but in reality any of them that are 5 years old or older still have the old Ruger quality.

Well, as for current RUGER production?

Just got a Super Single Six, and it is outstanding.

I am not sold that a transfer bar is that bad or affects the trigger thst much. I like them. Yes, w/o a TF bar - is crisper, but compared to any semi is still outstanding. It's very subtle in my opinion.

I had a Stampede that I really loved so much that I bought a Uberti Cattleman II to replace it ( was called the Horseman for a while). Beautiful guns that I found to be flawless. I have had other revolvers that were flawed, or felt sloppy. Nothing against Rugers - I have a Superblackhawk and Single Six.

I got this used Beretta Stampede Deluxe .45 Colt at a gun show last year. It was made by Uberti for Beretta but it has a transfer bar system so it can be loaded with 6 rounds.

Ruger New Vaquero in 45 ACP would be my choice.

Fun as hell, sturdy, cheaper ammo in ACP and about the same size and feel as a Colt SAA.
