I have the Kimber Target II in 10mm and has been nothing but trouble. Sights and sight parts falling off, FTFeed etc etc etc with over 700 rounds through it so far. I love the 10mm round, but I'm starting to hate my Kimber. Sad.

      What 1911 in 10mm

I have no issues with Kimber Eclipse, for Target one, remove elevation screw, it will open up and show a set screw, use lock tight on it, friend had than issue on his 9mm Target, I have the same gun too and sights are not moving.
And I use only Tripp mags for 10mm, and WC for 9mm. Flawless

Also look up #356RP Heinie's Kimber SlantPro sight

That's the other one on the roster still. Is it being produced currently or is the Eclipse the only one still readily available?

I'd try the Kimber if I wanted another 1911.

I bought complete G41, and G29SF. I added the G20 Gen4, G40 MOS, and G30S complete slides to go with those.

If you shoot real 10mm loads with a 5" bushing barrel and have problems feeding from 5th to last round in the mag I advise you to put the Wolff extra power magazine springs. The slide cycling velocity will be high. I shot 10mm through my 5.5" comped Caspian built and 7' IAI Javelina. A friend of mine had the earlier Colt Delta Elite. The Javelina and Caspian never had a problem feeding hot rounds, but the Colt Delta did even when my friend used my mags. His Colt did develop a crack, but he was happy after the frame was fixed.

Owning both a Kimber TLE made in the late 2000's and a Delta Elite from the late 1980's, I'd go with the Kimber for a new 10mm 1911.

But I would get a Glock 20, or something else, before a 1911. Everything I've read points to the 1911 platform not holding up to high round counts of 10mm - they just get worn out in a way that doesn't happen with .45 ACP, 9mm, or .38 super.

Interesting. Those 38Super chambers must be a bit sloppy. A 9x23 shouldn't fit into a properly cut 38Super chamber.
9x23 was designed to work in an unsupported chamber.

Good point. I just pulled the picture out of google to demonstrate the different amounts of exposed brass.

I don't hear much about Smith & Wesson. Why is that? Not sure if they even have a 10mm but I still hear little on SW. Why?

Les Baer, Wilson and Night Hawk seem to be ones for high end 1911s. Should one look past these choices? Not real interested in Kimber. Maybe Sig. Thoughts?

S&W gen 3 all Stainless semi autos Designed for the FBI to handle full power loads. They are DA/SA. Sig is the other option but they are all off roster and they don't make an SA/DA version (yet).
