    Single Stack Nines?

What is left on the roster these days in the way of single stack nines? Kahr, Shield, and some 1911's... what else is left? Not really interested in anything smaller than the Shield, and I can't stand the safety on the CA Shield. Seems like a pretty limited field as far as I can tell. What am I missing?

    Go private party.

Pay the premium to own the gun you really want.

Don't like what you buy, resale is easy on desirable off-roster pistols

Almost every single stack you could want in readily available in the for sale forums...

I hear you. The non-CA Shield and 4" XDS were on my SSE list, and then I got silly and started to feel bad about spending all the money...

Trouble with PPT is the rare ability to actually shoot them before buying. I know you can resell but that all takes time as well.

Hopefully the Trump administration will help us do away with the stupid roster, among other things.

I have the CA Shield 9mm. It's really good, IMHO. Apex tactical sells a nice LCI delete kit for $20. The safety is barely noticeable.

Pretty sure some of the FN manufactured browning hi points on are roster.

Yup, the off roster "used gun" is the way to go. It was the only benefit to the LEO exemptions that the legislature caved on.

Pretty sure that Browning only made High powers (not hi points) and they were never single stacks...

Its pretty easy to remove all the safeties on the shield. I had a no-safety full size M&P, and now have a CA shield, and they really operate the same. The LCI is a little annoying, but its free to fix it yourself, or just $20 for the apex part.

Its such a good pistol, I wouldnt overlook it due to the cheesy safeties!

I'll second the suggestion for a Sig Sauer P239.

3rd for the P239... Awesome single stack 9mm, accurate and reliable.

Would be difficult to separate me from my XDS 9.

One reason I'm looking is that as I go through scenarios for my home defense gun, I think it's highly likely I could be shooting one handed, whether holding a flashlight or kid in the other, and I'm willing to trade a few rounds for a bit more secure grip. That said, I'd rather stay away from safeties and decocking levers from a simplicity standpoint. Probably be willing to entertain a 1911 as the safety is prominent (compared to a Shield) and would rather have a consistent trigger pull over a DA/SA. Missing out on the 4" XDS was probably a mistake.
