Quick Q on roster

If the roster for a manufacturer, ie HK doesn't specify sku, does that mean as long as it fits the roster description, is it good to go?

What if a used pistol doesn't has a box, how do you conform with the roster if the manufacturer has specific sku that is on the roster? How do you confirm?

Best info I can find is that there are 2 SKUs that meet my criteria:
P2000 V2 LEM 9mm

SKU: 709202LEL-A5
Three 10-rd mags w/ night sights

SKU: 709202-A5
Two 10-rd magazines and regular sights

If I go to the roster, there is 1 listing (in which both SKUs would meet that description)



However, manufacturers such as Smith & Wesson and CZ, list the specific SKU.

Answering your first question... As long as you aren't taking possession of the gun with a capacity over 10rds in the magazine you are good to go. I bought an out of state Glock 23 gen3 off Gunbroker, didn't have the normal capacity mags shipped, and everything was fine for DROS simply because the CA roster lists "Glock 23" and nothing else. As long as it isn't a specific SKU you can buy whatever version fits that specific description. Keep in mind though that the CA Roster will have some exceptions straight on the site; for example it says no Glock Gen4's are approved.

As to your other question I'm assuming serial number should tell the DROS process all it needs to know about the gun.

Its not an answer to your question but cz sp01 has sku on roster as 01152. The 18 round version is 91152. Only difference is the magazines. I spoke to several gunshops around and most said they can still dros the gun but will toss or keep the mags. Only one shop said it has to match the sku. I asked what if its just the gun (no box or stickers identifying the sku) and they said that theres no way to check then theyl dros it. Id imagine your situation falls in line with a similar solution.

Both of these are right on.

BUT, you will need to do like rauldelga and call your favorite LGS's and see what they will or will not DROS for you.

Ultimately, it is up to the FFL who will be filing the DROS. Make sure they are in agreement that what you are buying is on the roster.

if it's used and the seller is in CA, or it's an old C&R handgun, it is exempt from the roster.

Ultimately, it is up to the FFL who will be filing the DROS. Make sure they are in agreement that what you are buying is on the roster.
