No such thing as Gen 1 Glock 23.
Glock 22 and 23 started as Gen 2.

Gen 1 were only available as Glock 17, 17L, 18, and 19 (only a few hundred).

The problem is finding somebody that can do all this. I've contacted places like Zev & Loki but I have not made any progress because it seems like they're just to busy.

Do people have any experience with or suggestions for a shop that I could contact that works on tricking out Glocks?
Hes just trolling us, NO ONE adds finger grooves, nor would they muck with a Gen1 glock.

That was kind of my thought... rare doesn't always mean good. A rare 1936 mint condition baseball card doesn't automatically make it a collector's item if it's just some guy who got drafted to the St. Louis Browns and never played a game then got let go at the end of the season.

I'm just saying, if gen1's were exceptionally good then they'd still be making gen1's. You're basically looking for a pistol with features that the gen3 has, so rather than turning your gen1 into a gen3, just buy a gen3. Keep the gen1 if it has sentimental value for some reason, but if it were me I wouldn't put any money into it besides to replace broken or worn out parts.

Also I agree with the others above that it's probably a gen2.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

I for one, think the finger grooves are all dependent on hand size. I have giant hands, and none of the grooves line up. My fat fingers grip the ridges. I can still shoot the guns fast and accurate so I've never worried about having them removed. I did recently look at stippling my model 22 frame, and saw groove removal was only $15 extra, got me to thinking....

            I don't think there is such a thing as a Gen1 G23

Glocks are not designed to be pretty. They are designed to work with out failure. Sure you can spend $1,000 to go the full ZEV mods, but why bother. It doesn't make the gun threetime as good. Maybe spend a few buck on the trigger, but the rest is just fluff.
If you find yourself in a fair fight, you're doing it all wrong.

                Sights too.

I agree with you 100% though. Glocks were never meant to be the guns you show off at parties for bragging rights, they're meant to be used, and used a LOT, and just work well. And they do that job incredibly well. A barbecue gun, they will never be.

I look at it this way......

This car is fine, nothing wrong with it. It does what it does incredibly well, and reliably:

Now, THIS car, on the other hand, is trying to be something it isn't, and the owner probably should've just used all that money to get something nicer in the first place, if a nicer car is what he wanted:

He's right in the sense that his glock 23 is the first generation of glock foetees, but in a gen 2 design.
