Such good humor. I'll get a photo of what I have. It was my first purchase, prior to it I had gifted pistols from family, and it was mid to late 90s? I guess I've always assumed gen 1.

I have no need to sell & rebuy. And yes, I want finger grooves - I couldn't care less if others are removing them.

Sounds like you are set in what you want. A shame to deface a gen 1 or even 2 glock when there's so many people that want them because of the lack of finger grooves, etc. Why don't you putting it in the marketplace and try to trade for a gen 3?
Even If you still sent it off to get stippled it would at least already have finger grooves and a rail.
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

First Gens - Collector pieces only and need improvements.
Second Gen - The best in my opinion.
Third Gen - Frigin finger grooves Suck
Fourth Gen – Some internal updates for the better and a replaceable back strap to change your hand indexing. 1911 guys should be happy. Fringin finger grooves though.

Lol i love all the people telling you not to upgrade as if this gen 1 glock is extremely rare and was used in ww2 or something. Good luck on your upgrade search personally id just buy a gen 3 probably only be $100-200 dollars more for one (after all the mods)

There is no such thing as a Gen 1 Glock 23.
Development did not start on the .40 series until 1990. By then Glock had switched to the updated frame known as the Gen 2.

He has a much more common Gen 2 Glock 23. Think of the numbering orientation. This is why there are so few Glock 19 first generations. Glock was making the switch with the further development of this series.

All he has to do is compare his frame with any zillon of images on the net of a Gen 2.

And Huntsprig, that is an awesome gif.

                100 percent correct -
                Kan't read - Model 23

Second Gen - I'll buy it from you if your interested. Then you can buy a 3rd gen.

I got a California Special Glock 19 Gen 3 at Turners. The finger grooves work for me. I never liked finger grooves on any handguns previously but I think Glock got it right.

Another is to drink beer. Lots of beer. You need thick beer goggles to make a 1 a 10.

Sell and get a Gen 3 if you want to modify. I like the simple design of Glocks but prefer mine with bling.

I would not modify a generation 1 in any manner. If it really feels that bad in the hand, sell it to me immediately. I guarantee you it will go to a good home.

If you find someone to do it, let me know because I want to beautify my framing hammer. Seriously, an older beat up Glock is kinda cool, just leave it alone.
Buy made in USA whenever possible.

Don't listen to the naysayers. Keep the .40. 9mm is just the flavor of the month. Once people realize that the stopping power of .40 is vastly superior to the 9mm, they will come back to it with their tail tucked between their legs. I've been buying up police trade in .40s for this inevitable spike in demand.

I stumbled upon that GIF which is from a Primus video, and thought it was appropriate for Calguns.
