A friend has the LEM trigger and although I'm a conventional DA revolver type or SA semi I was very impressed with the H&K LEM operation. It's very easy to be accustomed to, very intuitive. In practice it's just like getting a DA revolver to "fully cocked" mode using the trigger, but so very much easier and definite. After a few familiarization pulls - maybe what, 3 or 4 at most? - it's impossible to screw up and pull all the way through.

In theory it's alot like the older Para LDA but in practice much easier and definite to use.

I pick up my HK P2000 sk tomorrow, it's a conventional DA/SA pistol. If the store had a used LEM for the same good $$$ I'd have gotten it instead.

Like most others have already said. It is a great pistol with ambi features. I love the one I have, I chose not to go with the SK since the grip was way too small. The only gripe I have is the trigger reset is a little long, but it is a great carry gun.

If you have a H&K pistol that was destined for Mil/LE sales, you can take it apart and find a RFID chip or find the spot where the RFID chip would have been inserted in.

personally I prefer my HK's to be LEM or have the safety to allow cocked and locked.

since the P2000 is not available with the safety I got the LEM and changed out the FPB spring and its great.

I like my P2000 a lot. I don't think you'll regret getting one. I just put a USPc on layaway this weekend. Also a great gun, virtually identical in size that you may want to consider as well. Only thing is, the P2000's have come down in price, and can be had for as "little" as $700 in my area. USP's never seem to go on sale.

I don't understand HK. They dropped the price like crazy on the P2000 series, meanwhile the USP line price hasn't budged.

I keep on hearing that the price drop is because they are going to be discontinued. The P30 is supposed to be a "product improved/updated" version of the P2K, and there have been rumors that it was intended to replace it.

The P2K is an "upgraded" version of the USP, and I remember rumors back in the day that it was slated to replace the USP 9mm and .40 models, but that never happened.

It could simply be that there was an LE contract overrun of some kind and that the pistols are being "dumped" for what the LE cost would have been, allowing FFL's to offer them at a discount. I remember when the P2K actually retailed for more than the USP. Hopefully it won't be discontinued. Even if the P30 were on roster, I probably wouldn't get one because I just don't like finger grooves on my pistols.

Me too brother. Me too. I would have preferred to wait until I had the funds, but the last time I was ready to buy, every FFL in my area only had the full size pistols in stock, no compacts, and I ended up spending the money elsewhere. I figured that at least this way, I know the gun will be there when I'm ready to DROS in the next few weeks.
