It is a nice gun, except for the trigger.

Love my P2000SK in LEM, .40. The LEM took a little getting use to, but is very nice.

I have a 9MM V3 P2000, it's a very well built gun in stock configuration,my advice is to go down to your LGS and see how it feels in your hand.

My wife recently bought a P2000 V3, 9mm. It reinvigorated my inner HK fanboyism. I really like it, as it feels like a refined USP Compact. Its ergonomically excellent, soft shooting, and while the trigger may be heavy, its smooth and predictable.

Theres been whispers of it being discontinued because of the low prices, and even HK's own social media account refers to it as "often overlooked". The federal LE agencies still use them tough. I have a good friend in Customs and Border Patrol whos issued a P2000 LEM .40.

Well, consider that the USP has been around for a LOT longer than the 2000 and P 30 series pistols and it's still being sold with no end in sight.

Someday probably, but there haven't been any rumors in the pipeline of its demise that I've read.

The United States, Germany, Switzerland, Japan, and Canada all have government contracts with HK for the P2000 last I read. There may be more and there are certainly some smaller local government contracts in the US, but those aren't advertised as much. Same goes for the USP's. It's a popular duty pistol.

Bottom line, if its economically feasible for HK to continue making a model they will. If it's not, they won't.

Here's a cool side note. If the frame is marked Heckler & Koch GmbH it was destined for LE. If it is marked Heckler & Koch Sidearms it's destined for civilian use.

I have a P2000 V2 in .40 and P2000SK in 9mm. I love both guns; however, the slide release in my P2000 broke after 1,000 rounds or so. Extremely weird. HK customer service was awesome and sent a new one out right away. No issues since.

The LEM trigger is looooooong, I start looking for the break, and end up jerking it.
But its accurate, and handles the 40cal bullet very well.
Not a big fan of the mag release, I use my trigger finger to hit it.

only the first pull take up is longish but light. once you fid the reset the light LEM is like shooting a SAO.

What if it says H&K Sidearms GmbH?
