Great balance, great ergonomics, fully ambidextrous. Shoots well one handed. With some effort I can even rack and lock back the slide with one hand (left or right). A few days of training that and it will be no problem.

Sights took some getting used to (3 dot instead of blade-notch I was accustomed to) but are very visible.

Over 1000 rounds not a single hiccup. Did 500 without cleaning. It doesn't even get dirty anywhere that matters.

V3 trigger is pretty heavy double action, but after 150 rounds or so in DA (3 range trips where I shot DA only until finger fatigue) I have no problem smoothly and quickly firing the first shot.

Would buy again. Wish it came in .45. I have the 9mm, even with 1350 fps +P rounds it shoots like butter

I have a P2000, but also a P2000 SK. I love both of them they're great shooters easy to conceal carry if you want to. I like the ambidextrous features, hammer drop safety... typical HK quality butter smooth tack drivers out of the box simply a great gun for the money.

Is the consensus that these pistols will likely be discontinued?

I think I remember hearing they were supposedly being discontinued almost 2 years ago. So maybe, but I doubt it at least not soon.

But I'll say it again, get the p2k. I love my p2ksk.

I went to my LGS the other day with the intention on buying a P2000. I ended up buying a CZ75 Compact instead.

                SHAME ON ME!

Now I have to go back to my LGS in 30 days to get the P2000 that I had intended to.

                  I have the P2000 .40 V3 SA/DA and love it! I love it so much I just got the P2000SK 9mm V3 SA/DA.

The prices have softened on these P2000's I wouldn't hesitate to get one, never know how long they'll be around.

                  I second everything vmwerks said!

Have the V3 version of p2000 as well. Its a long pull on the trigger but I don't mind since the reset is good enough for me. Has not given me any failures on either ejecting or feeding. I have used quite a few brands of fmj, I also used a white box winchester jhp and pmc starfire and it shoots without any issues. I will be changing the mag release to an extended one though but besides that, its a good buy. Bought mine to a fellow calgunner for almost a highway robbery deal and it was new with 4 mags. If you'll be patient and just wait and watch for some deals to come up here, you can get it. Good luck....

P2000 is a great gun. i have one in 40s&w LEM trigger and shoot it way better than my fullsize USP40 stock trigger. not sure if its the trigger or me.

I've shot the sk model and really liked it. Definitely recommend it . Will probably get one myself, eventually.

WHAT?! Not Glock? This thread needs to be bookmarked as a turning point in BP's life!

To keep on topic, I'm picking up a P2K V2 on Friday. Can't wait to get her to the range

Don't choose one until you try one with the light LEM trigger. By far the best HK trigger in my humble opinion
