Cowboy shooting will put a lot of lead down range. SAA's and clones don't hold up as well as Ruger.

Uberti makes Cimmeron, Beretta, Taylor branded guns. I don't think Beretta branded guns are available anymore. And of course, Beretta owns Uberti.

I bought the Uberth Horseman (now called the Cattleman II), has a transfer bar like the Stampede and Ruger Vaquero.

That's a sweet looking pistol, I saw this in 45 Colt and I had to have it.

Sweet. It would seem to me that 1873's in .45LC would be unpleasant to shoot in smokeless powder. Am I wrong. That's why I got this to shoot .38spc. But that Ruger is gorgeous and I don't think highly of Ruger.

45 Colt shoots as smooth as can be. Seriously. It's a low pressure round / blackpowder pressures. Similiar to 45ACP with a slightly longer duration . Nothing like 44 Mag, which to me, is almost rediculous. And I have a Super Blackhawk.

That's a very good description. Before I shot 45 Colt out of my Vaquero I was expecting much more recoil. I guess it was my imagination from comparing the two cartridges (45ACP & 45LC). It is very smooth, almost soft, and like you said, slightly longer duration than 45ACP. A nice controlled explosion followed by a delicate push. Cowboy action guns are fun.
