Go back and re-read the how-to-check-out-a-revolver sticky on page 1 of the handgun forum. 
With the gun cocked and ready to fire in each of the chambers, push forward on the hammer. It should not move. If it does move forward, you've got a "push-off" issue.
Obviously, do this with the weapon unloaded.
