    New Glock slide issue?

Brand new Glock g35 gen4 mos, when slide is locked back and a full mag is inserted, the slide will rack forward by it self and chamber a round. Not sure if this is normal? (first glock owned)
Never had a gun do this before. Caught me off guard.
When the slide is closed and I insert a full 10 round mag it has to be pushed in with force to get it to seat.

Problem 1 is not normal. Check the interface between the slide lock and the notch in the slide, make sure they are squared up to each other. Maybe the slide lock is out of spec, has a rounded edge etc.

Problem 2 is normal with new mags, will loosen up. Store the mags with ten rounds for a week or two. But if they are blocked 10/15 mags, then you may have an issue with the block.

Does it do this with both mags it came with? Factory ammo or reloads? Sounds like the mag is allowing the round to be too high or the case is out of spec to me.

OEM 10 round mags. Have had them fully loaded for the last 2 months in the safe trying to loosen them up.
They are very stiff getting the last 3 rounds in them.
Will look at the slide lock.
        Thanks

All 5 oem factory mags do it. Tried them all, slide moves into battery. Factory CCI ammo.

If you can, post a pic of the slide lock notch and one with the slide locked back, showing the slide lock catching in the notch. Is the recoil spring stock? Usually there is a bit of tension on that slide lock to keep it in place.

If your slamming the mag in hard you may just be jarring the release off.

Definitely pick up an Uplula for loading mags if you haven't already. The seating of the mags in the pistol will become easier after a while.

True. If the slide is locked open there shouldn't be any resistance inserting the magazine.

Both are normal. Some Glocks do it some don't. That being said, I've run into this with just about every brand possible.

Not really a big deal. I've never put a loaded mag in a gun and not wanted to close it right after. Just dont get used to doing that in training as Murphy will make sure it doesnt happen when you really need it to.

The best way to loosen them is shoot with them.

i have never encountered that problem on any of my glocks. As a matter of fact the slide release is actually pretty stiff on mine

Both my Glock 19 and 17 do that.
Catches me off guard, but I like it when it happens when shooting IDPA.

My Glock 19 did the slame shut like that but only when I really hit the mag in. By the same token, I have a Glock 27 that won't do it for the life of me.

Curious OP . . . does it do the same thing with empty mag and or mag loaded less than 10 (say 8 or 9 rounds)
