Glock 23 conversion barrel?

I have a G23, and use a Lone Wolf barrel (A newer one that doesn't have a giant wolf logo on it)
Only time I had an issue was when I tried one of my 40S&W mags, the bullets wouldn't feed reliably. With G19 mags, all was good. (maybe only 300 rounds though) ejection is eratic (sometimes right back at you) but it cycles and shoots fine. I have other 9mm, no desire for a G19 at this time. When buying a 9mm, I personally would look at something different to continue my variation in my collection. I do know that some people love to load up on one make to get super familiar with the feel of the firearm. thats totally acceptable to. If you want a G19, get one of those too, no reason why you couldn't own both.Comment

I use the Wheaton Arms conversion barrel on my G23. It's been flawless. Wanted a lighter recoil for those in the family that don't enjoy shooting the .40

Most people have no problems with conversion barrels.
But I've had no luck. I have a Glock 35 that hates conversion barrels. I have both a Storm Lake and a Lone Wolf that shoot 2.5" high and right at 10 yards.
The stock barrel is dead nuts on.

I've considered doing the conversion, but to buy a whole other set of mags, barrel and swap the ejector isn't worth it. Also, I'm not confident a conversion will be as reliable. I'm planning on buying the Vickers G19 RTF2 whenever I get outta here. For now, the 23 stays as is.
I'll bet the cost of buying the new mags and conversion barrel wipes out the killer deal that the 23 was. Unless it was a REALLY good deal. As in $200 or less.
People exaggerate the difference between 9/40 way too much. The ammo costs more, but the recoil and other complaints are so overblown. 9mm is a perfectly fine round, but just because the FBI switched doesn't mean .40 is garbage.Comment

I have a LW 40-9 conversion barrel I bought just last year. Works great! With the G23 mags as well. Shoots to POA just fine. Great way to lower practice costs.Comment

agreed. there is very little difference between the two. in fact, i doubt most people could tell the difference if they shot two otherwise identical guns and didn't know in advance which one was 40 and which was 9.
and considering that 40 costs only about $0.05/round more than 9 (based on current ammoseek pricing), you would have to shoot about 4,000 rounds before you'd see any cost savings from converting to 9mm - assuming it costs about $200 for a barrel and a couple mags.my Benitez goes to 11Comment

ive taken mine to front sight on more than one occasion, using only the conversion barrel, never and unintended malfunction in over 2400 rounds fired through it. Lonewolf 23-9Comment
