I had a friend who was enamored with his m9, and I had him shoot my px4, and even though it's been through the ringer, he still admitted it's an improvement in every way over the 92 series.

Beretta doesn't make the 8000 series anymore - they shipped all the manufacturing to Turkey and starting selling them under the Stoeger label, which never was on the CA roster

the Px4 somewhat replaced the Cougar 8000 series

unfortunately, now Stoeger is no longer manufacturing the 8000 either, i think they halted production last year

          i have a Beretta Cougar 8000, that's the 9mm - i'll never sell it

They are unique I'll give it that.
I just remember that the rotating barrel didn't do much for ME,for felt recoil anyways. Felt like the recoil impulse pulled to one side. But it could be me, I don't own one so I can't say for sure. I liked the design, and I would have got one if they didn't get pulled from the roster

They are great and underrated guns. I have one in my desk at the office - it has low profile levers, G conversion and Trijicon night sights.

The only confusing aspect of PX-4 (and 92/96 line) is that Beretta insists on pushing the F models, when the consensus seems to be that the majority want some sort of a G model. When the lever is slide-mounted or in any way non-standard, it should be decocker only. It's awkward to push up during draw and the grip would have to be slightly altered to apply enough force so high up with a thumb.

Imagine if decockers on Sigs were safeties and locked at the bottom - it wouldn't make any sense either.

I bought my PX4 used in early 2016, I like it very much. The ergonomics are much like my Sig SP2022, another under rated handgun. I've been considering doing the G conversion, just haven't gotten around to it. I had wanted a compact version, but couldn't find one. Oh well, I can get one next month when I move to a free state, Oregon.

I got mine in 2011. I'm sorry but it is the sweetest shooter I've ever used.

Hahaha. What are the odds, I find out they were knocked off only a day before they are reinstated. That's good juju .

It's a great gun, wouldn't mind one in 9mm one day, lucky for me the state only allows one handgun a month, so my rebate shield will have to keep me occupied...
