I ppt'd a gun in San Bernardino a couple months ago. They are primarily a gunsmith shop. They had a couple "broken" ARs in the shop they were working on. They were very nice, fast and efficient for the ppt at least.

Not in SB but SB County (hehe) if you want to make the drive. I take all of my gear to Brad and he does great work.

Also, make sure the extractor is facing the ejection port just in case. A quick search of ar15 bolt carrier group assembly will show you what to look for.Comment

Makes sense to me but what spring should I get? Should I also replace the buffer? It is a 10.5 inch barreled pistol upper.Comment

I purchased a gun in there once and the owner seemed fine but his dad was in there both times, when I bought it and when I came to pick it up and he was belligerent.I ppt'd a gun in San Bernardino a couple months ago. I don't know enough about your pistol or AR pistols to make a recommendation. I have experience with rifles. I do my own work, and am neither a lawyer or gunsmith. With that out of the way, I would try to troubleshoot the problem if it was mine this way:
Isolate the problem. Luckily the two parts of the system that are giving you trouble are in two different halves. If you have access to a known functioning pistol, try to see which half works and which one still malfunctions. DO NOT DO THIS WITH RIFLE PARTS. YOU WILL LIKELY BE BREAKING SOME LAW.
Other things to look for: adjustable gas system
Mismatched buffer spring. I know that there are shorter length tubes available for pistols. A previous owner may have used a longer spring than inteded for the tube. Get new matching components, preferably as an entire assembly.
Or take it to someone fully licensed to work on it. The only gunsmith in riverside that I know I would not recommend.Comment

You might want to create a photobucket account. Post your pics (resized on your computer to fit this forum webpage) there, then click on a photo you want to post here, and there will be a "img" box to the right of the photo. Click on that box and it will say "copied" (in your computer's notepad). Right click and just paste that img link to your post on this forum. It won't be a thumbnail.
Just don't delete the pics from your photobucket album. If you do, no others wishing to view them on this (or any other forum you have posted them to) will be able to view them.
I have used photobucket for over 5 years and have encountered no problems with it other than the site is sometimes a bit slow.
Good luck to you sir!
