I prefer the light triger pull of the XD, the extra goodies that they through in are a bonus.

Springfield does not make the XD, they are the importer. The manufacturer has been making poly guns for as long as glock, but with less fanfare. Both are proven reliable, both are names you can trust, pick the one you like.

1911's I like Baer, you like Wilson, another likes Kimber, bottom line is they are all great wepons, pick what you like...

Ah... yes, very true! I always keep forgetting that fact. Still happens to this very day when I fill-out a Dealer Record of Sale on an XD, I still have to look on the gun to see the 'origin' is Croatia!

I think of Springfield and I think of U.S.A.

I suppose it's because it's such a well made gun, it's popularity is evident and for good reason... quality is good. Hey look, I don't knock the XD... no way! You have to ask yourself why you are buying this particular model, and then study the features respective. Personally, I like the looks of an XD better than a Glock. However, I like the mechanics of a Glock over the XD in terms of the 'Polymer Pistol Design' and for me function beats appearance hands down every time... but, that's just me.

      Thank you for reading.

In stock form, I will give you that. The XD factory trigger is mush. Actually, what you are talking about is not the "break" but the reset. Not everyone will be willing to invest the time and money, but a tuned XD trigger is great. Not quite the glass-rod break of a tuned 1911 trigger, but not that far off at all. Shorten the takeup and the reset and make the break more crisp, and you've got a very nice shooting weapon.

2 of my XD's have been back to Jeremy at Springfield for his magic, and strong magic it is. The draw for me XD vs. Glock.....45ACP. Love the feel of the XD45 (both Compact and Tactical)....G21, not so much. All my XD's are 45's.

Now... you wand a Springfield? Go get a 1911!

You don't see Glock copy the 1911 do you? Nope! Springfield makes 1911's.

Want a Polymer Pistol? Get a Glock!

I love it when someone says, I cant hit anything with that darn Glock... I instruct this method of firing and I'll be darn if they don't become a Glock believer immediately after live fire using this method. Using this feature on the Glock will improve your accuracy.

I have owned Springfield 1911, and I have Kimber [1911] Ultra CDPII (my carry gun), and I will own a Dan Wesson CBOB if I can find one!

I will never trade my Glock 36 for a XD, nope! If I want a Springfield, I'll get a 1911... hey, when you go to a steakhouse, ya get steak not fish!

When you get a Polymer, you get a Glock not Springfield!

It's okay, you don't have to agree... just my opinion on this. "Thanks"

Actually when I buy Polymer, I buy Walther P99, or a couple of them. As a Physical Therapist I am really surprised Glock didn't do more anatomy research before designing that handle.

If the Walther is too much, I like the XD better.

G-23.....the OP stated that he did not feel a noticeable difference between the two..........glock mainly because of the availability of parts....if you want to go that route....like many have said, shoot both of them more and then decide for yourself.....glock triggers takes some getting use to, but I like em.....and you can't beat the price and not to forget their durability.......

I remember when the XD was introduced as a nameless Croatian pistol (HS2000) when they first came out, and no one was interested. Score one for Springfield marketing!

They are still made in Croatia, so it bugs me when I hear the "made in USA" line. It isn't. Just like my Toyota truck is made in the USA, and my friends' Chevys may not be.

Not that there's anything wrong with the XD, but call it what it is. I personally like the Glock ergonomics and trigger better. The XD-M series has me interested (replaceable back strap = custom fit), but it's not on the CA list, so (the M series has Springfield-specified improvements added)

The G23 and XD-40 aren't good comparisons either- the G23 is a compact which shoots as well as a full size. A G22 would be a better size match.

I am not familiar with glocks, but when i pull up an XD, the sights align perfectly right off the bat. I want an xd.

But, I would also like a glock as well.

I have both pistols and I would definitaly recomend the XD over the glock, just my two cents.
