Wolf .45 ACP?

I actually had problems with the wolf jamming up one of my AR15s while I was in Idaho last month doing a bunch of 30 rd mag dumps. While I was cleaning it out with the old hoppes #9 solvent it came out greenish. Like the color of the wolf case. It didn't jam on the wolf rounds, it started jamming after I ran out of wolf and went back to brass cases. The shells kept sticking in the chamber. I'm no expert, but im pretty sure the laquer got hot enought to transfer to the chamber and was gumming it up. I've shot a lot of the wolf and never had a problem before, usually ony one shot at a time, but I think there might be something to the theory of the laquer gumming up chambers when really hot, at least in AR15s. Ive never had a problem in the SKS or the 1911. Just my .02

My G21 and USP, both .45, dont like Wolf. I tend to shy away from it.

It has a nice bent lip from the extractor trying to remove it. No more Wolf for me.

Basically the same thing happend here. My buddy built up an OLL using an RRA upper but the fit was WAY tight. He couldn't get the rear pin out by hand. So I lent him a spare upper of mine and he started blasting away using Wolf's "new and improved" ammo. The stuff that's kind of gray instead of the old greenish/tan colored stuff. After a couple of mags he brings his rifle to me and it's all jammed up. We took the upper off and slid the bolt carrier out, and there was a case stuck in the chamber. Pounded it out with a cleaning rod and the lip was chewed up from the extractor. I like the price of Wolf but I personally like brass better, and I'll take my chances with reloads.

I'll use wolf in .223 and 7.62x39, but I won't buy it for my handguns anymore.

The .45 wouldn't cycle in my 1911, but it cycled fine in my buddy's Ruger... so he got 500 rounds from me no charge. 9mm wouldn't cycle in my 92FS but it was fine in my CZ 75. I'd rather have a brand that works in both though.

I like the price of Wolf but I personally like brass better,

1,000 rounds of Wolf 223 was $159 from Miwall at the Cow Palace gun show today. Federal 223 was $199 for 1,000 rounds. At least you can reload the brass.

I normally dont buy wolf ammo, but I was in a bind and needed to pick up some .45 before tomorrow. Picked up a couple boxes of Wolf steel cased - Had I not needed some cheap plinking .45 NOW ... I wouldnt have picked it up - and now I see this thread

Couple Hundred rounds through a HK.45 USP Compact - no problems at all. Would I buy the ammo again?? Probably..... if I again run out of my normal stock and need more last minute ammo
