      STI frame import into CA

3 Phoenix Trinity Frames low consecutive serials. Plus my single stack minor gun in the background

Call Empowered Firearms in Vista. Talk to Chad or Tanner. Tell them Roger sent you. This is all done legally via ssev2 aka break top single shot. Chad will give you the details. They currently have 2 Phoenix Trinity frames and can get ck or STI if preferred.

We do it. Can also ship to your FFL.

We are currently replenishing parts as many 'walked away' after shipping up North.

Under what non-exemption are they violating the law?

Or do they have a cop flipping them til he gets in trouble?

I'm telling you, lets just buy single stack .45's and 10 round mags and we'll switch to L-10. Plus, all the old guys will finally come to the brewery with us after USPSA since we'll have manly, steel guns. I think I'm gonna buy a springfield, either the loaded parkerized or the Range Officer.
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

I give you bonus points on the commander, but it's really still the size of most normal guns

Why would you want a widebody frame when you can't have high-caps? Finding magazines would be hard and expensive.

So, what do IPSC shooters do now? They can't shoot Open or Limited.

Widebody frames are useful if you have huge hands where a regular 1911 is too small. Also, doublestack mags are a tiny bit faster to reload since they have a magwell funnel built into every gun.

It also means you can use a flush fitting 10 round mag instead of an extended length 10 round single stack 1911 mag.

A lot of folks have old hi caps and shoot normal limited and open. I've been shooting a Glock 24 with hi caps in limited for a few years. Unfortunately, with the new laws limited and open are going to have 10 round limits so L-10 is the way to go. I'm still going to keep my glock 24 and will use it in OR at matches, will probably use it in limited 10 as well. It's all just an excuse to buy a 1911 for me.

USPSA Open will get interesting. I htink in the USPSA rules, if the State limits magazine capacity, then the match must honor that. ie; you must run Open with 10 round magazines... I guess unless you are LEO, in which case, for some reason, you are allowed to run your 23 round magazines in Open. But then your classifications is based on all of USPSA Open shooters, who include a majority not limited to 10 rounds. Still, it gives you frame mounted optics.

Remember to dial 1 before 911.

Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

                        There. Are. Four. Lights!

                          Per rule 3.3.1:
" In states where competitors are restricted by law to maximum magazine capacity, that maximum capacity will be the maximum allowed for all competitors in the contest. Any such limitations must be made known to all competitors by the Match Director/Range Master before the start of the match."

There is no exemption to this rule for LEO. They can certainly be in possession of high caps, but must not start any stage with more than 10 rounds loaded in a magazine.

I am in the process of getting a LimCat built. They are going to "manufacture" the single shot and can ship to an FFL of my choice. I am a little worried of the FFL freaking out and not willing to do it. Then causing a mess.

So I want to talk to the FFL first.

Does anybody know an FFL in the SF Bay Area that has done these before?

                            Thanks

Best bet is to check with Tracy rifle and pistol
Winning is half the battle. The other half? Why red and blue lasers of course

I keep hearing about people that are going to keep their 10+ mags for use out of state. What's the legal way of doing that?

Does one take their permanently blocked 10+ mag and a hi cap conversion kit across the state line and temporarily unblock it, convert it to real 10+ to shoot the match? Then take the temporarily installed hi cap conversion kit back off and reblock it permanetely to 10 rounds and across back in to CA with it and the temporarily installed hi cap conversion kit?
