    STI frame import into CA

Well I'm wondering if I can buy a STI frame off of Brownells and have it sent to my FFL, or since it isn't on the CA Handgun roster list it's a no go. What I. Wondering is that since it's a stripped frame will it be exempt from the roster

It's funny my friend was just texting me about this. Of course he's a
    CZ fan boy who'd never
Turn his back on his Czech overlords
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Bare handgun frames are a no-go due to the roster.

                Smokeyfs,

Handgun frames cannot normally be DROSed to you unless otherwise exempt.

Handgun frames could be DROSed to you as a rifle frame but that frame would
then forever be contaminated in CA and if you built it into a handgun you'd risk
                California SBR charges.

Even if the frame in question is a Rostered make/model or an exempt model, it's
not a complete tested or complete exempt gun.

DOJ wrote a memo about this in Spring of 2006 regarding transfer of single shot
pistol frames (ex: Thomspon Contenders) and said they needed to be transferred
                as an exempt complete handgun.

You can ppt one. Probably your best bet is to show up at one of your local range's uspsa practice sessions
or match and ask one of the regulars. They have em and know how to get em.

You'd have to buy the whole gun, and at a custom shop. They'll do the SS#v2 for you, which is the frame with a breaktop single shot .22 upper.

I was afraid of this, so one of my last SSE pistols was a 2011 STI, even though it was pricey, but I have it now. Bought in case I wanted to try Limited in USPSA ... but Limited will soon just be Limited 10. Still a good gun for that, but really, why not shoot Single stack minor then.
