Nighthawk grp vs Baer srp

Can't decide which gun I want between these two. Both look and feel good in my hand but I have never fired them. I would like your input and information on these two 1911 pistols. Thanks

Out of those 2. I would choose the NH and hope for the best. Too many LBs have QC issues!.
Buy a SA PRO and save 500 for a 1000rd box of ammo for training.

Where are you seeing the Baers with problems?

I understand both are pretty good with problems being a rare thing. Nighthawk does more customization. Baers maintain their accuracy for a very long time, the SRP comes with a 2 1/2" at fifty yard (50) compared to most others at 25 yards. I don't own a Nighthawk, but Baers are sweet.

6 months ago I would have said Nighthawk without any hesitation (based on the Talon that I had). My new one is a different story, and as I mentioned, there is one in a shop that is in worse shape QC wise.

Not bashing....just saying they aren't like they used to be, so you've got to keep your eyes close on the details. They are perfectly capable of producing damn near perfect handgun....they used to all be, but that seems to have changed as of late. Your mileage may vary....

All the LBs I have handled have been full of metal shavings inside after shooting because of poor fittings, slide, barrel, bushing.
Some say its during breakin period, but that is BS. Poorly craftsmanship.
There are plenty of threads out there from people who knows what they are talking about, supporting this.
NH have had their share of QC issues too, to a point where customers received guns that was unshooteable!.
I wouldnt pay that kind of money for a custom gun, EVER!. Maybe for a 70s serie Colt frame buildup from a reconized builder.

I have to admit I haven't been around the single stack guns for some time. When I was I never saw a NHC that was as good as a Baer. I never saw a Baer that was as nice as the guns Kings built so take it for what it's worth.

My SA PRO and all my friends have zero issues and the slide feels like it rolls on ballbearings etc.
Very accurate and tight build. Choice of the FBI HRT (not that it means anything) but they have been extensively tested.

The only other way to do it, like I said is to go full custom from a reputable smith that makes YOUR 1911 with love.
I would not consider LB or NH to be real custom guns. Just highend builds.

I know their are a lot of internet commandos/hobby shooters praising LBs etc but I havent seen any in real "operators" hands. Where they really get put threw its paces.
And I know several highspeed guys that sold there NHs after the first trip to a range.

The SA Custom Shop makes good guns. So does Les Baer. I have a SA Custom Carry and a LB Concept II, so I'm speaking from direct experience.

Both guns are equally well made so quality is not an issue. My Springfield is finished a little more nicely (just a small bit). Both have been stone cold reliable from the first shot. I would be happy with either one if I could only have one 1911.

Pick the gun you like most and go with it. Try to handle them if you have the chance, they feel a little different even though they're all 1911s.
