Ruger Mark IV Target

41s and 87s are much more expensive than the Marks (I have 4).

With the "off roster premium" and 500+ miles driven by the OP I doubt there is much of a difference.

Beretta 87 Target is on the roster and S&W 41 is exempt, so both can be had for the "free state price." (I have both of these and wouldn't mind adding a Ruger, but not with the CA premium.)

Just curious. What is so special about Mark II, III and IV that people are willing to pay more than other great target pistols such as S&W 41 or Beretta 87 or Browning Medalist?

I don't think anyone(Including myself as I have already done.) is willing to pay more for a Ruger Mark I, II, III(Off roster, $750+) or IV(Off roster, $850.00+) over a Smith & Wesson 41(Off roster, $1300+), Beretta 87T(On roster, $929) or Browning Medalist(Off roster, $1300+) but because the roster and choice availability forced everyone into that spot.

If we were in a free state, Sky's the limit with all the latest and greatest pistols, rifles, SBR's and suppressors. Here, it's either comply with stupidity and the roster (Uh..NO!) or keep fighting and "Pay to play".

The Marks are sturdy, reliable and good shooters.

The main gripe is the tricky reassembly which the Mark IV has corrected.

I commend you for not rolling over to the anti 2A laws that are being forced upon us here. These laws are designed to make it as tough as possible to own a gun in CA but there still are folks like you who continue on in the struggle against the antis.

Great looking pistol. I wouldn't trade my mark iii target for anything, had to buy one for myself because the wife wouldn't let me to a trigger job on hers. Guess who's jelous now. Eats anything I throw in the throat. Also wanted to say that dis and reassembly is simple it's just about fallowing directions.

Very nice. I loved shooting my dad's Mark II. One of my favorites. I will likely pick one up sometime after departing.

Because a Ruger MK anything is very accurate out of the box. With a bull barrel and trigger job (Both factory on the MK IV) they are almost self aiming.

My MK I (Granted it has been accuratized) will same hole shoot all day long, even in a child's hands.

Uh, no. Perhaps PPT from someone who was able to obtain one because they are exempt? Driving 125 miles from the Bay Area in any direction will put you still in California or in the Pacific Ocean. Not making fun. Just bitter that we can't get one.
