I made 3 AR pistols back in the old days using 80% lowers. I'd sure like to keep them. Anyway an AR Pistol can be featureless? Hammerhead grip seems to fit the bill. Also, mine all have muzzle brakes. What am I missing??

A AR pistol can never be made featureless. That's because as posted above look at 4(b). Since you can't get rid of the feature it can't become featureless. You can make it fixed mag just as many people here have done.NRA Lifer

But didn't they also redefine what a fixed magazine is - such that a bullet button no longer qualifies? So you'll need BB 2.0 or register it as AW?
Anyhow, the main reason an AR pistol can't be featureless is (D) - it accepts a magazine outside the pistol grip. So even if you got rid of the threads on the barrel, second handgrip etc - it is still AW with a removable magazine because the magazine is outside the grip.Last edited by SkyHawk; 10-25-2016, 8:59 AM.Comment

I'm sorry i thought i answered your question. No an AR pistol can not be made featurless because it has a mag outside the grip. You can make it into a featurless rifle but once you do that it can never go back to being a pistol. If you do that with all your AR pistols and still possess the upper of an AR pistol you can get popped with intent to make an SBR or short barreled rifle. That is how i understand it. If you are trying to ask if the gov will know you have AR pistols if you don't register them and will you get in trouble.... well meh is everyone destroying their30 rounders?Comment

Just get an afg instead of a vertical grip. It has no stock. Take off flash hider. Boom gtg.
