I too like the Glock 19, but it is bigger than a PPK. The Glock 26 is pretty small, but the thinnest smallest 9mm that I've seen is the Kahr PM9. I have one and it shoots very well. However there have been reports of some PM9s not functioning very reliably. I've never had a problem with mine in over 1000 rounds.

So far I've heard no issues with a G26.... I'm not a compact auto guy (.357 revolver). But I will say, the more I try them, the more I like them. I've tried a .45 subcompact/compact and they can be quite a handfull.

+1 for the M&P compact....have it on right now, shot it yesterday. It replaced my HK P7 as a carry gun.

The .380 PPK is all steel and weighs about 21 ounces empty. A 9mm Kahr MK9 is all steel and weighs about 24 ounces empty. They both hold 6+1 rounds. The size is similar, as shown in the picture below. I own both but prefer the Kahr for its smoother trigger pull and more potent caliber.

In PPK size: the Walther PPS. Very thin. Hard to find as not on the CA approved list. You might find one via PPT though.

The G26 is worth checking out, although it's much, much thicker. At least you can get it in CA more readily....

I think this is a pretty cool compact 9mm, the CZ 2075 RAMI. I haven't shot one, but I handled it at a gun shop and it felt quite nice.
