Agreed. The OP's gun doesn't seem to be plagued by excessive amount of problems. Simple fix.

Warranty work I believe gets accounted and written off as an expense. I am not sure if it hurts the business or helps it manage taxes, if done within reason.

Update: Took the Kimber to a gunsmith the problem was the series 80 safety, basically it was getting stuck and causing the slide not to battery. It's an easy fix, but gonna cost a few bucks. It should be good as new when I get it back. Is this common with series 80 1911's?

Kimber's firing pin safety is not the same as Colt's Serise 80. It's also pretty reliable. Just makes reassembly a bit more cumbersome (gotta keep the grip safety disengaged when installing the slide), but that's the only issue with it.

Thanks! Sort of having buyers remorse lol The dang thing costed $1300 should of just gotten the Springfield 1911 MC Operator hehe, but wanted to take a chance and tried something different so I got the Kimber hehe. I'll keep you all posted!

In my since sold Custom II, CMC mags were the only ones that caused my constant ftf problems. I replaced the followers with the cmc power plus followers, per CMC advice, to no avail. I started using kimber factory mags- never had a ftf again. Fwiw

I haven't tuned anything, but I will say early on my Kimber (same model) really needed to be clean to feed well. After several hundred rounds it became more tolerant of running dirty.

This. If the Kimber's Schwartz safety has a problem, it's likely to be shearing off the pin by installing the slide with force while the grip safety is depressed. Other things can certainly break but this is an easy error to make.

I had problems with a Chip McCormick mag and my Kimber. Also caused the exact same problem with a friend's Springfield. So it's not a Kimber specific issue.

The picture the OP took looks similar to what I had. The gun was locked up tight, happened with his too. Went back to regular mags with the welded bottom and no problems.

Because of the issues in both guns, I won't use McCormick mags.

Never had any issues with my 2001 vintage Custom II. Ran with any mags from El cheapo to high-fallutin name brands. That's why I like the gun. Firing pin safety never bothered me so I never altered it.
