I have a model 41. Zero interest in the Ruger.

I can't imagine that anyone would pay much of a premium for one, when there are a billion affordable Mk. 2's and 3's, Brownings, and you can get a used model 41 under a grand.

Ah, yes, high performance! Whenever this kind of question hits my mind, I convert it to, "How good can I shoot?" This translates immediately to, "Can I shoot the difference between the gun I have and the one proposed?" Putting this up against some reality: In the 50s (The 1950s), Ruger made its bones with a .22 pistol you could buy for $37.50 and compete with Colt Woodsmans right out of the box. From these available facts in my early youth, I concluded that 75% of any shooting perfection belonged to my hand, 15% belonged to the gun, and 10% to how much I had to drink the night before.

California gun laws are proof that some stupid comes in a full metal jacket.

The new take-down button seems pretty cool though.

Never more than what I can get it for in a free state.

The mark IV target is selling for $500, and the hunter for $600- I'd pay a $100 premium to PPT one today. I have the money, and I can't buy one from the store. I'm sure one will go for more, but I won't pay it.

If we still had the old SSE that $600 Hunter would most likely cost you $775.

When I take people out shooting they pass on the Ruger MK pistols and go straight for the SR-22. I bought two before the roster BS.

The profit from selling one almost paid for both. The new owner tells me he would gladly pay the same price again if he needed another SR-22. I'll sell it to him when I leave. He does like California.
