I'm fine with my Mk III "Standard". The IV is the pistol Ruger should be building going forward, but the III is fine. The 22/45 was the answer to a question nobody asked.

The picture in the OP is that of a Hunter, which has MSRP of 769. So 800 or 850 isn't a stretch.
The Target model has MSRP of 5*9. I wouldn't pay more than 100 premium for that.Comment

I already own Ruger MKIs, MKIIs and MKIIIs. I won't even pay MSRP for a MKIV let alone a premium.NRA Certified Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun and Metallic Cartridge Reloading Instructor

It sure is pretty, but the trigger feel on a Buckmark is pretty sweet, they're readily available (and affordable) in CA, and there are upgrades if you want to do them.
Once I start thinking about going over $500 or so on a .22, I start wondering if I should just keep saving and add a Pardini or a Hammerli to the mix. http://www.westernmarksman.com/pardini-sport-pistol
Then I take a deep breath, and realize I'd be much better off putting that money into ammo and/or the bank.Comment
