There are currently 2 models available here in CA. One is the HD which is all stainless and weights 4 oz more. The reason Im considering a 238 is size. My G26 when loaded can be heavier and need to be in an IWB. Im looking for something smaller that would just for inside a pocket. The range I go to doesn't have both models so I wanted to hear from people who have shot both and find out what the major differences are and how they shoot.

Sig P238 Question

I agree with tsoiky. I rented the two tone twice and it shot just fine. But I ended up buying an HD model because I like the extra weight and I got a good discount on it (thanks to Ammunition Supply Point in Vacaville).
I would recommend the two tone if you will be carrying it in your pocket. But I prefer IWB or OWB, so I don't mind the extra heft of the HD.Comment

If you have a Turners nearby the two tone is on sale for $529 until tomorrow. Jailed mine last week. The CA HD is pretty limited production it seems. Doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere. The HD looks really good but 4 oz is enough of a difference in the pocket.Comment

Do u plan to carry it and use it for range toy. If so I went with the hd model. Weighs more but will last forever . I put a lot of rds through it, and I use underwood ammo. So I went stainless. Guns too fun to shoot and very very accurate for the size.Last edited by mikeh96; 09-13-2016, 11:46 PM.Comment

Where did you see this? $529 is a great price, and I would buy one for that, but it shows regular price of $629.99 on their website, and it is not listed in their current ad???"Bye Felicia!" - Said by me, as I looked at Kalfornia in my rearview for the last time, 9/22/17.

If azzholes could fly, this place would be an airport!

It's in their Fall ad. Only through today. But if you live close to the $499 deal it's even better.Comment

I've held both, but only shot the HD model. The 238s have such a sweet trigger!
Here's a great post on this:
The weight difference is truly noticable. The HD weighs over 20 ounces, more than the M&P Shield, whereas the alloy models weighs about 15 ounces, about the same as an Airweight J-frame.
I picked the HD model because it was a new gun, but DROS'd and never picked up, so I got it for $638 and no sales tax plus I didn't have to wait the 30 days I would have had for the alloy model. At $599, I wouldn't hesitate to get the alloy model, get some rosewood grips, and never look back.Comment

Anyone know a place i can buy the HD and have it shipped to me in minnesota? I'm trying to get my hands on one so i can get comfortable shooting it before i move to California in 10 monthsComment
