Looking for feedback on this CZ Custom 75 SP01 SHADOW

Has anyone had the opportunity to fire one of the custom CZ 75 SP01 Shadows by CZ Custom? A friend of mine in Arizona says it's one of the nicest guns he's ever shot. The sights and grips are supposed to be improved and he says the trigger job is amazing. If anyone has any insights or comments I'd be very interested in hearing more. Thanks!

Here's a link to the gun I'm referring to: http://czcustom.com/new-firearms/cz-...16-orange.html

I have a SP-01 Shadow Target from the CZC shop. It's easily the nicest shooting 9mm I have ever shot and well worth the off roster premium I paid for it. I'd only part with it to get the Shadow Target II.

I do not know how it differs from the Shadow Orange however and I've never shot the Shadow Orange. CZC does quality work.

The shadow target that I've shot had a really nice trigger and hitting bullseye at 25 yards was effortless. Felt like the gun wanted to aim itself. Considering that the price is close to a Les Baer, it will be really hard for me to choose one over the other. Les Baer might be slightly more accurate with the 1.5" guarantee, but the ergo on the Shadow did felt better.

I didn't realize they were so rare. When you shoot yours please let us know how it went!

Well if you ever do part with it for a Shadow Target II make sure you post in the WTS section so one of us has a chance to snatch it

I know it might be hard to quantify but how drastic of a difference were the grips and trigger compared to a regular CZ 75?

Unless you are exempt, you will not be able to purchase a CZ SP-01 Shadow. You can only get one through Private Party Transfer. Shadows are amazing guns but you can also get a factory SP-01 and send it out to CZ Customs or Cajun Gun Works and they can customize it and get it pretty darn close to a Shadow in performance.

If you're lucky enough to be looking at the Accu-Shadow, then grab it while you can! Has the best 9mm trigger ever....

The sp01 shadow and regular sp01 share the same frame. You can buy a shadow top end, do some trigger tuning, replace a few parts and you would have a sp01 shadow. This isn't a cheap method, but it may end up being cheaper than what people are asking for in the classifieds.

If you can't find one via PPT, then I would just get a regular SP01 and send it to CZC OR CGW, probably be the next best thing! I too would love one of those but alas, us CA folks get the shaft again!

Yeah I'm heartbroken. My friend in AZ works at a gun dealer and was telling me how incredible these Customs were. I started looking into them and was getting myself all psyched to order until the reminder that Shadows are off roster brought me crashing back to Earth.

Yeah it'd be close but it wouldn't be the same as the Shadow Orange. This might still be a good consolation prize though and like you said it may end up cheaper.

You can put rally stripes and an SS logo on your tricked out Camaro but its still not a real SS.

She's a beauty, the custom wood grips look really classy too. I wish they were still on roster but I guess I'll have to either get a regular SP-01 customized or keep my eyes out on the marketplace.
