Can't choose... need help

So, I am considering my next handgun choice, I'm a armed security guard, and I have a permit to carry .38, .357, 9mm and soon .45, I carry my Glock 19 on duty but I want to get a full size gun in a more powerful caliber to carry.

I have been kicking around different guns, price is not an object here, I am saving up for a while.

I considering the following guns:
1)Sig P226 in .357SIG. I can carry .357SIG and get a .40 drop in barrel to cut down on ammo costs. I like this idea.

2)H&K USP .45, I like the feel of this gun, and H&K's are good quality guns.

3)FN Five-Seven.. not really for carry just for fun. I like it's light weight and has potential for high cap mags.

4)Springfield XD .357, I love the grip of the XD, and every time I pick one up I smile, it just seems to fit well.

I am leaning towards the SIG, because I know sigs are known for being reliable, good quality, firearms.

Now for those who know anything about BSIS regs: one who has qualified with .357 mag revolvers can carry a .357SIG because all BSIS cares about is the numbers on the gun right..

Aside from the 5.7, any of your choices would work well. The best suggestion that I can give is that you go to a range that has rental firearms and try the Sig, H&K and Springfield out. All 3 have different ergonomics - and the weapon you want is the one that fits you best.

That said, the .357 Sig has a significant muzzle flash. You should fire some, preferably in low light conditions, before choosing that caliber.

The 5.7 has its proponents, but given its penetration potential, I would not choose it for duty or carry use.

I kicked around that idea for a bit, getting 5.7 on my card, I don't know if my instructor will do that for me...

Sig P226, without question. If you're close to qualifying for .45, however, you may want to take a look at a Sig P220. If this is specifically for on-duty carry, take a hard look at the P220 Carry SAO. Flawless operation, very good trigger out of the box and easily the most naturally accurate point shooting pistol I've handled.

Definitely the USP .45

The .357 SIG is still an oddball caliber in my opinion, not as widely available as 9mm, .40 or .45.

Though the .40 isn't approved for carry, I say look into the .45 variants of the XD and SIG. While you can get a .40 barrel, .357SIG isn't exactly cheap to shoot.

Maybe I have funny logic, but I'd rather have a gun available in a caliber with WWB or cheap ammo. .357 SIG doesn't come available in WWB VPs or BB at your local Wally World.

Infact, I dont plan on selling ANY of my guns ever...

Out of those listed I would choose the 226 in 9mm or .40. Why not get a full size G17/22 since you are familiar with the platform?

Vote for USP 45

I own two of your candidate guns, the USP 45 and the Sig P226 (9mm). Since you want a full size gun in a larger caliber than 9mm, I'd go right to the .45. The .357 Sig is just a 9mm bullet with a little more velocity, and doesn't improve on the 9mm that much, in my opinion.

The USP 45 is a good pick because it is absolutely reliable and light weight enough for comfortable carry throughout your shift.
