I prefer the richer, full-bodied feel of my G-30 over that of my 30 SF

I think you can put a G36 slide on a G30sf. I am sure the G30sf is a great gun. My only issue is that the G30 is a tank when it comes to the upper slide. That model seems a little too bulky to carry often with a CCW. The G30s doesn't seem like a huge improvement, but is when CCW. Slide is from the G36 on an SF lower platform. The other item I do for CCW is use hollow points that are 78 grams with p+. It probably will reduce the 45 acp to a hot 9mm with penetration, yet the weight is dramatically lower. That is the big issue with a double stack 45 acp with ten rounds. Full size 230 grain rounds will turn any CCW into a heavy lead brick.

I have a 36 and 30 gen3. I carry the 36 all the time with shorts and a t-shirt (iwb holster). Not noticeable at all, and I'm fairly thin. The 36 has a narrower slide and frame and a lot lighter. I took the slide and barrel off the 36 and put it on the 30, which is a nice option. The 30 frame is so much fatter than the 36 frame, however, plus, with the extra 4 rounds in the 30 magazine, a lot more weight.

With 185 grain bullets (Hornaday criticalike defense), the 36 is very manageable as far as muzzle flip. With 230 grain (golden sabre), I had to really pay attention to my grip more as it was a little snappy.

I am extremely confident in the 36 and love the .45 caliber round.

The 30 is an awesome firearm as well, but not as concealable as the 36. The 30 makes a great HD handgun.

Oh, few more observations about the G30s. I go back and forth with my G26. The feel of the SF grip on the G30s is awesome. Fits my hand perfect. G26, I use the aftermarket magazine pearce grips which can pinch during firing. G26 is a surprisingly accurate little gun that groups similar to my G17. The G30s shoots soft for a 45. Cycle rate is a little slower than the 9mm due to recovery. Shooting the G26 rapid is effortless at short range with solid grouping. The G30s is not as fast, but the difference really is not that noticeable. I didn't experience dramatic muzzle jump with 230 training ammo. I felt my G26 was more snappy and the G30 was more push. Being a glock guy, I use my G17 as a baseline.

Overall, very impressed with the G30s over the past two years. It is now my go to CCW. I always go back and forth with my G26. G26 will be the best for conceal. During summer, I go camping a lot and like to know that I have a 45. Urban environments, probably G26. G30s is similar in size to a G19. Glocks are so easy to use and to me only require muscle memory and no thought.

Never tried the G36. It would be interesting to see how the grip feels. A single stack is also nice. So many different slight trade offs. Six rounds would be good with weight vs additional 4 rounds. Big rounds for small guns. Lots of different configurations. Sounds like you can mix and match with a G30 and G36. That is a nice option.

I love my Glock 30sf. It feels so comfortable in my hands to point and shoot and 10 rds of .45 in that smallish package is fantastic. No not nearly as small as my S&W Shield but it is still certainly a 'compact' handgun that feels great to shoot.

All my other .45's are 1911's, nice to have this as a change. I don't have CCW but just overall I love the Glock 30sf- and this coming from a guy who tried to love Glocks and still believes everyone should own a Glock 19/17, but personally I just never could shoot them well, not a natural POA for me, so I sold my Glock 17 I bought years ago- not Glock bashing at all, just not for me, but I do love my one Glock- the 30sf!!

After getting used to the G30, the g36 grip certainly feels skinny. Almost awkwardly skinny. But you get used to it pretty fast. It's pretty comfortable in my hands. But these days I just don't find it to be any more concealable than my G29. It's skinnier, sure, but the grip is taller because of the tall magazine baseplate. I really wish Glock would come out with a flush 5rd magazine for the G36, if they did that I'd carry it a lot more. Someone on another forum managed to dremel and superglue a hacked g36 5rd magazine, but it's just not something I would trust using for CCW.
Settle down, folks. The new "ghost gun" regulations probably don't do what you think they do.

G29 is another great possibility. 10mm power. Maybe someday.

The SF stands for Special Forces, so it's pretty operator.
