    Microstamping Question

I know that California has a law which made it so all new handguns added to the handgun roster need to have micro-stamping.

Is this required for handguns which need to be renewed, or just ones being added to the roster?

Also, I had been informed that micro-stamping was a theory that is not currently feasible, so I'm curious how there are two new handguns on the roster if they probably don't have micro-stamping.

Microstamping not required for basic renewals.

Pretty sure they are not microstamped or we would have threads on it.

It was Schwarzenegger that signed the law and AG Harris that implemented it.
It's not required to renew a gun already on the roster.
The DOJ firearms division accepts or rejects handguns for the roster at their discretion seemingly according to if the gun will forward their anti-gun agenda.

I have never understood how the state can enforce something that does not exist. But that goes to show you how dis functional Kalifornia is and the clowns in Sacramento.

          Found a bit more info.

I do not know these weapons, but it sounds like DOJ might be cleaning up the paperwork.
They were sort of "approved" prior to microstamping.

          Single shot.

I'm surprised that they have not passed a law that says "all motor vehicles must only run on hydrogen and exhaust only water vapor."

I've been thinking and ranting about the exact same thing. Or why not go full electric. Or mandate that driver radar stuff for every car? Or mandate breathalyzer key locks for persons with dui convictions? The technology "exists". Why pick on just one industry? There are plenty if other ways to give citizens a false sense of security.

First off, microstamping is for "semiautomatic pistols" only.

Revolvers and "single shot" pistols are exempt from the requirements.

Those two new ones are single shot pistols.

                  Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Actually it also shows how incompetent out legal court system has become.

The full electric didn't work, because the battery packs didn't (and still don't) last long enough.

The radar stuff is too new, but you can expect it to be adopted as mandatory, the same as anti-lock brakes.

The breathalyzer key locks are mandatory for second offense. The only reason they didn't make them mandatory for first offense is that they didn't have enough of them. But, it's coming.

Be careful what you ask for.

Corrupt politicians rely on the fact that the court system no longer works.

They know that they will be long gone before their actions are even considered by a court.

If and when these laws are put in front of activist courts, they not only ignore the constitution in their rulings, but also use the opportunity to create new laws.
