I love my 1911 and Glock 30's but I wouldn't CCW a 45. If Open Carry was legal I might carry a 45 but for concealment, I stick to 9 or 38/357

Silly gun. The barrel is too short for most .45 hollow points to work as intended. Such a small gun needs to be in 9mm or smaller. Save your envy for something better.

Generations have sworn by 2" 38 Specials for carry, pushing a 158 gr bullet at 800 fps tops. Now suddenly a 230 gr slug at the same velocity is "silly? There are plenty of HP's that will work fine at those speeds. Check youtube videos for "45 short barrel expansion" for some evidence of that. Will they expand perfectly every time in every situation? No, but no bullet does. And consider that the size of the .45 hole is ALREADY almost the size of a decently expanded 9mm or .38. I really don't think the shorter barrel is any more of a liability in .45 than it is in 9mm.

Even if S&W makes one, you're never getting it unless you become a cop or leave Kalifornistan. They will be right over the border in Havasu and Vegas gun shops, taunting you.
