Looking for a 2nd ccw pistol (pocket carry).

I'm in the market for another gun to carry concealed. I'd like something small enough that I can slip in my front or back pocket, especially while wearing shorts. I normally carry an M&P9c IWB, but want another option for when I wear shorts and a t shirt.

    Requirements:
    9mm
Small enough that I'll take it when I don't want to carry IWB.
Not in CA, so roster doesn't matter.
A decent trigger. I'd prefer striker fired but think I may end up with a DAO since it seems like that's what most are.

I'm looking at a Kahr PM9, but haven't shot one yet. Any other options I should be looking at?

    Sig P938

How about the Sig P938 which is like a mini 1911 that will fit in your pocket. I carry it's little brother, the Sig P238 in .380 Auto and it is a fine shooter.

        Sig P938

I used to carry a Kahr P380 and it was a really great pocket gun. But the trigger is super long, and I mean every single pull. The Sig P938 is single action only and the trigger will be sweet like a 1911 with a great reset. That is how the P238 is for me, and that is why I sold my Kahr P380 and went with the Sig exclusively for a pocket pistol. Here is a review.

In this video Hickock45 compares a Kahr and a Beretta Nano with the Sig.

It depends on the size of your pockets and the size of your hands. I find there's no way I can pocket carry a Kahr PM9. Too big. I also find the Sig P238 too big to pocket carry.

I can pocket carry a Kahr P380 easily. They have been problematic though. Google their extensive problems. There's no way I'd call mine even close to reliable, even after 2 trips back to Kahr.

A Seecamp is another easily pocketed pistol. But they're hard to get a hold of.

Is that P938 on roster? I like that.

Honestly, most single stack 9mm is little too big for pocket carry for most average person. Not sure how big you are, but most people tend to IWB single stack 9mm.

              Glock 43 gets my vote.

                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

I pocket carry a Sig P938 easily in cargo shorts and any other pants with larger pockets. It's all metal so it has a little heft in the pocket. But it shoots well and standard night sites are a plus.

AMT Hardballer long slide. You'll make an impression on the chicks as well.

                      PM9 here.
I use a DiSantis pocket holster front pocket.
Back pocket, I don't think so.
The longish trigger pull is a safety feature as there is no trigger safety or external safety. The long pull is similar to a DA revolver.
Takes getting used to, but great, reliable gun.

When you shoot one, be sure it's a current model . The old (4-5 year) old two tone eras had just ugly triggers.
                      I had one.
My new (18-24 mo) all black is a totally different gun, trigger-wise.

Are you set on 9mm ?

Pocket guns need to be small & light

                          open to suggestions?

I carry a bodyguard 380 for bikini days, much easier to conceal for me..

for pocket carry on the average size person, you should compare the overall size of different pistols..

                          some comparison pictures of mine; bg380 / shield 40 / xds45

I started out with nothing - and I still have most of it

Check out the Sog P938. I'm usually not a fan of mouse guns, but really like my P938.

I carry my Shield 9 in my pocket often no problem. I put it in a De Santis pocket holster so it doesn't print as much.
