I'll vouch for 1911whore and I do enjoy his posts. He did some magic on my 1911 9mm Springer. My gun went from a standard loaded mass produced 1911 to an IDPA ESP gun that anyone would want to shoot. His work on the trigger and action was exceptional. it's very smooth and has a crisp 3.5 break. The action is *almost* as smooth as his guncrafter but it is a mass produced gun. He's worked on 3 of my 1911s and he knows his stuff. After I get my backup gun back from him, he's going to look at my Wilson.

That Guncrafter is sweet and possibly the nicest 1911 I've held.

I really wish the .45 GCs were on roster. I read nothing but positive things about them. Dunno if I'd be willing to get a .50 and add on a .45 conversion.

Very jealous of the stable of 1911's you've got there. Looking forward to more and the range report. Remember, anyone can take a picture of a clean pistol out of the box, but it's the dirty range pics that are truly sexy!

This is great, I haven't seen too many comparisons like this since Severns did his so many years ago. Like someone else mentioned, I'd be curious to see how a Wilson Combat compares in this mix. Thanks for taking the time to do this, I'm sure it's an incredible amount of work.

No, no...not good...this is not good! You weren't supposed to like the Guncrafter. This is not going to be good for my wallet!

Some of the comments here just astound me. My god this was actually a post of substance instead of the standard, "which gun should I buy," or the mind numbing, "if the world was ending on a Tuesday, which three guns would you want to help fight the zombie horde vs. the three guns you would choose if the world was ending on Thursday?"

Great write-up OP! I appreciate you taking the time to do this and would love to hear your thoughts on comparing the Guncrafter to a Wilson if and when you have time.

Hey man, why cant you be hipointwhore2016 or rimfirewhore22? Killing me here with 3K guns that shoot boolits which will approach .50 cents a round soon... Im not going to drop a huge nut on a guncrafter and shoot reloads or armscor b.s. ammo. Preparing to consolidate my handguns to 9mm and revolvers only. Now maybe its time to hunt for a gc or springer? Damn, mission ammo stockpile before 2017 on hold.

My honest guess is that he'd pick a GC over any regular level aka non Supergrade WC.

Now what I'd like to see is a two high end on roster comparison...

The SVI traditional model and a WC California Classic Supergrade

I'd like to hear your thoughts on the Wilson Vs the GC too. I've been saving for a Wilson but have been reading some really great reviews about GC lately.

I have said and will always say Wilson makes a hell of a gun...The GC is slightly smoother, the wilson is slightly more "refined" aka, lighter trigger, blended magwell.....but the wilson costs more...I think for the money its a tough choice between the two...Your money is well spent on either.
