This has been my debate recently too

    Cbob, trp/mc, or loaded+ammo

I'm sure we'll be happy either way

DW PM7 has the best fit and finish of all and about the same price of a TRP or a Kimber Gold Match. CZ97 is a different style gun and half the price of others. Regardless of which 1911 you get, you may also want the CZ97 as an addition.

Also, PM7 and Gold Match come with Target sites where TRP and the CZ have low profile 3 dot sights.

All are great guns and you will be happy with any of them. In order of looks not considering the type of site preferred, my vote is:

DW PM7, TRP and Gold Match are equal seconds. The CZ97 is just a different type of gun (not a 1911) but holds its own as it is an accurate, sturdy and inexpensive gun which is definitely worth spending money on.
Good luck with which ever you get.

I would go Springfield, Kimber,Dan Wesson then CZ.

Reason Springfield CS is known to be good and you get a lifetime warranty. Kimber has a one year warranty but a lot of agencies use their pistols and the people I know who own them trust them. Dan Wesson I have never had any real experience with but have held one in a Bobtail version. The slide racked like it was on ball bearings very nice, but if you google their name first thing pops up is complaints on warranty issues. For the money I would take a TRP all day over one. As for a CZ in .45 held one was not over joyed, but if i have the extra cash and did not want to spend a lot of money I might pick one up.

I like the way Kimbers feel/look more refined. But I love Springfields Warranty and over all quality.

              OK i will say it
Buy a rock island 1911 with the upgrade package [ match ] for under 600 dollars.
It will be accurate, reliable, well made with a life time warranty. It will eat all the 45 acp you put in it.Use the money you saved on more ammo.

My Opinion on the 3 brands listed.

Springfield HRT > Dan Wesson = Springfield TRP(basically a LOADED/MILSPEC with some hand finishing) > Normal Loaded/MILSPEC line like MC Operator/Range Officer > Kimber.

                        DW hands down.

Those that put any of those ahead of a Dan Wesson honestly haven't spent much time with one. I have a couple Springfields and they are solid guns no doubt but a DW is an absolute work of art in fit and finish. Springfield does have an awesome warranty and CS. I have one there right now for repair. I couldn't tell you how DW is because it was perfect out of the box. My Kimber went back 3x and was never fixed. DW is WAY ahead of Springfield, Kimber. If you have the means to prchase one you won't regret it. Then you won't be online trying to justify why your purchase is "just as good" as a Dan Wesson to those that own one and know better.

Springfield makes great guns, particularly the operators in my experience. Not quite as finished as the DW but will still keep him honest

Never shot one myself, but I just handled a DW Specialist today. Man it felt amazing. The I-dot sights are pretty cool as well.

I chose a Sprinfield MC operator. Shot one and loved it. Fondled a Dan Wesson PM7, oh man the quality. Wish the Dan Wesson specialist was on roster. Between a Dan Wesson Specialist and a TRP operator i would go Dan wesson. If you are looking for a non-railed 1911 check out the PM7.
