80% 1911 SSE 2.0 break open bolt action exempt ideas

Hey guys. I was wondering if this would be a break open idea:

    Install single shot magazine sled.

Install 7 inch barrel. With the extended beavertail, I believe the overall pistol length would be over 10".

Install something replacing the recoil spring like a wooden tube that goes around the guide rod to prevent the slide from moving back (would this be dangerous?).

Modify the slide catch so that it could be removed without racking the slide back.

This way, you will have to remove the whole slide to load a new round. What do you guys think?

There is a debate about whether or not non-slide-op pistols are indeed bolt-actions. That debate was over whether racking the action constituted bolt-action; I'm in the camp that sez no. The AR pistols meet technical definitions much easier since they do indeed have a rotating bolt. There's no roster exemption for handguns that need to be disassembled to reload.

The other exception that I believe you're alluding to is "breaktop", not "break open". I don't know if even the Clerke Xtender meets that definition, seeing how it opens up. They're out of print, but supposedly these guys will sell you one, for a good chunk of change:

I doubt your hollow wooden rod would survive the first shot. If you're going to do something like that to keep the action closed, I'd think you'd need a solid metal piece, maybe replacing the guide rod altogether.
I meant, it is my opinion that...

And all of that if the law even applies to home builds for personal use. I think we have all been beat over the head so much thst we start looking for compliance even when there is no need.
