    First timer for a Beretta**

Unfortunately not a 92fs as of yet but just a Px4. It was on sale and I was always interested in the barrel design. My gun salesman actually tried talking me out of it because of the reviews he's gotten from other customers. Me being the type of person I am, wanted to go against the grain and show him it's not the gun but the operator. Any who, I have not yet gotten the chance to take her out (hopefully this weekend) but I've done some mods to it.

My apologies for the crappy cell phone pics

-Blacked out rear sights w/tru-glow front sight (stock rear sights..jb weld and flat black paint)
-Rubber grip tape GT-5000 Grip Tape for guns, cell phones, cameras, knives, tools - makes anything "Grippy" 6 Strips https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C7WXTJS..._JD.CxbRNE7EY1
-Replaced hammer spring with D spring (there's a difference in the DA/SA, not a significant difference but noticeable) it's more tolerable
-Filed down the safety/decocker. I originally just rattle canned the levers but they still felt "sharp" so I just went ahead and put the rubber grip over it and feels much better..also that is why there's missing paint on the right side. Oh well..
-converted from "F" to "G" model. No safety, decocker only

What is the point of blacking out the rear site?

Nice OP! I have never owned nor shot a PX4, but owned a 92FS and own a few 92Gs. I definitely prefer decocker only, because I did periodically engage the safety unintentionally on my 92FS when racking the slide, which is why I got rid of it and stuck to Beretta pistols with decocker only.

Out of curiosity, how easy/difficult was it for you to change it to decocker only?

Now you have to learn how to spell "Beretta". Just kidding. I found some nice police trade in 92FS at J&G sales for a very good price. Will come without mags, and are basically filthy when they arrive, having been duty guns, but they were like new inside and function perfectly. I paid $329 each on sale last year. Here's one after cleaning:

Another member saw the stamp in the slide and said he though it was an L.A. County Sheriff gun.

J&G Sales is a family owned guns and ammo business since 1946. We always strive to provide our customers with high quality product at low prices.

I'm guessing OP's rear sight had 2 white dots. Most people prefer, including myself, blacked out rear sights for quicker target acquisition as the rear dots can be distracting in fast target acquisition.

I carry the PX4 daily.. maybe I'll consider at least the site changes.
But I don't think I'll modify the decocker/safeties from F to G, because I like having the safety on when I'm holstering, and then flicking the safety off once it's in my holster.
I like your mod tho OP.

                OAF-

I keep a sharpie in my range bag to black out sights...

Sights should be clean... White outlines, dots and disco are good marketing but you eye gets to decide what to see and what to ignore
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Thank you..converting to decocker only wasn't difficult at all (given you have the right tools and a little mechanically inclined) there's a vid on YouTube from mr.gunner on how to do it. It's pretty much straight forward

                    Is it worth it though?
And do you you still get that horrible bite from the decockers when you rack the slide after you put the low profile's on it?

Ive had a PX4 9mm for about 9 months now. It was my first handgun purchase and I dont think I could have chosen a better first handgun. Shoots very smooth with excellent re-aqquisition and have absolutely zero issues with about 1000 rounds through it. No true mods, have a tac-lite on it for when Im home and I colored the sights with green flourescent marker. I do plan on getting some talon rubberized grips or a sleeve soon.

I also have an Alien Gear IWB holster for when I get my CCW. Ive been practicing with it but of course I have no way of knowing how the gun will carry day-to-day

No bite from the levers what so ever (which was a big turn off for me when I first held it but I still like the gun overall). Also I didn't buy the low pros from beretta, those are the oems which I just filed down. Yes I could of spent $70+ and bought the actual low pro's but I like to tinker. I figured if I messed those up then I'll just buy it. Was it worth the conversion? To me yes..in my opinion, the DA is heavy enough to avoid ND, that coupled with a well discipline trigger finger of course.

I ccw my PX4 in an alien gear and it is perfectly fine. Nobody has noticed.
                            It's very comfortable as well.
