"commercially available for sale, ie new, in store purchase." Everyone knows that what was brought in by retailers prior to off roster can be sold, (while supplies last and if you can find them) usually for a lot less than what people on here want for a used one...lol

Plenty of failed LCIs have rendered pistols useless including many stories of failed Sigs due to broken LCIs. Extra unecessary crap parts means extra unnecessary ways for the gun to fail. Murphy's law says it will happen at the worst possible time.

I would never own a gun with LCI when a free state version without one was available. I am apparently in the majority, and that is why they command a premium price here, and why you couldn't sell one in a free state even with a discount - they are a joke.

You buy all the neutered, nanny state, Pelosi friendly guns you want pal, but don't question those who know better.

And as it pertains to this retread of a thread topic.....

that might have been what you meant, but "not available in ANY form" is an absolute that was incorrect.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

I really enjoyed the orginal LCI in the Ruger MKIII that actually made the gun more dangerous than the earlier MKII in that an impact to the LCI could discharge the round Ruger had to redesign the LCI to a 2-piece spring-loaded design that that an impact to the LCI would not hit the rim of a rimfire cartridge just like the firing pin did.

As I said, I would prefer to buy a new one and purchase a new slide, so you can keep your over priced "off roster" gun. Ask a simple question on this web site and all you get is attitude and lip service. You can't comment on threads over 170 days old, so your "And as it pertains to this retread of a thread topic....."

Asked and answered buddy. Now you know why some people would pay off roster prices.

No, now I know how some people take advantage and justify something, some one else may find questionable. Thanks, buddy.

You might, as a moderator, but Just last week I went to comment on a thread, not knowing it's age and I got a message that stated "You cannot comment on this thread, it's over 170 days old.

There's a check box saying you know it's that old and are ok with renewing it.

IMO the "off roster" label is used a little too often and a little too loosely, for obvious reasons (inflated values).
You are accepting the idea that they are for the most part the exact same gun. But for many of those that have been in the industry (collecting as a hobby, for profit, for home defense, for the love of shooting...) they are technically different guns. Variants if you will. And some are willing to pay a premium for the variants that aren't available in Ca to the average person.

It would be hard to monitor buyer / seller activities other than through feedback. For me personally, I enjoy the buy/sell transaction for the pure aspect of meeting others with similar interests. It's an opportunity to learn something new, or share knowledge. Unfortunately not everyone operates the same...

Thank you. I stand corrected, I obviously didn't see the check box.

I totally agree, all of my buy/sell transactions have given me an opportunity to meet some great individuals with the same hobby as myself, I might not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise.

My understanding is that, you don't get why people sell/buy off-roster handguns for more than their on-roster variant?

To sum it up, the roster only includes a handful of what is available nationwide.

As for those selling off-roster firearms and asking for a "premium", there are additional costs, headaches, and limitations when getting that firearm into our neutered State.

Yeah, that sounds cheaper And you still have a just as useless mag disco to deal with even with a new slide. And who says off roster means over priced? Plenty of smart people have huge free state collections in CA and didn't pay a dime more, you're just late to the party friend, and apparently butthurt about it.

But keep digging the hole man, you'll win this argument if you just keep digging.._
