Desert Eagle barrel lock jam. Need help/advice

So I bought a conversion kit, and when I was putting it on, the barrel lock switch got jammed half way. As far as I can tell, the pistol still works, I just can't can't move that switch at all anymore. Any help on how to get this unstuck?

    Disassemble and try again.
Clear the obstruction and return fire!
    Slap and rack!
Cloth over it and hammer lightly.
    Blame the Israelies.
Remove the pin and try again.

It's bricked at this point. The conversion fused the takedown lever to the frame. This has been a huge problem for desert eagle owners. I will buy it for $100 for a cool paperweight

I had that happen to me as well. I used a nylon punch and a mallet.
All is good. (Just make sure that when you are ready to coax it, the button is pushed through
          on the other side first).

Do you put a rag over the gun whenever you have to use a hammer or is that just me?

Anyone sane does. I never understood the "it's a tool, who cares if it gets scratches!?" If I'm going into a fight, then ya, whatever. But day to day, I keep my expensive stuff looking nice.

Yeah, a rag is a good idea, however I used a rubber mallet and a nylon punch, and it didn't take much pressure.

Were you covering from .50AE to .44 Magnum?...
I have a .50AE and wish to convert it to .44 with the available kit, but have not yet price shopped. Suggestions?
My example is in bright stainless, a total behemoth, and when carried in a belt holster is really something else. Seems accurate enough at twenty-five yards, and even my daughter (17), can handle it well enough.
All the kids refer to it as a "bling pimp gun".

2azone had the best prices I found. I don't have the desert eagle because it's awesome. It just makes me and others laugh when we go to the range

That's funny because I have the standard .44 gun and I'm thinking of getting a .50 AE barrel and mag for even more power.
